So my dad got a chipped Wii for some pub he owned and about 80 copied games on them.  He asks me to go through them, label them on the blankly titled CDs and rate them good or bad.

So why not give out my opinion to the rest of you guys?  Here we go!

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 - Perfect for the Wii, golf actually feels more fun when you're trying to whack that ball really fucking hard and NOT hit the bunker.  The character customisation was pretty impressive too, though for some reason my character ended up with the chin of The Joker.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves - I already have this game so I know it's awesome, if you enjoy minigames shooting out the nostrils every five seconds and winning by accidental intuition half the time.

Heatseeker - a decent flight action game, while never gonna be up to Ace Combat standards, it has some okay chatter dialogue and pretty sweet Impact Cam shots when you blow up a plane.  The controls are quite good for steering the plane too.

Cosmic Family - Some retarded toddler's game that looks like the kind of preschool cartoon at 7am you just know came from France, or even worse, Montreal.  It's nice if you're still wearing diapers.

GT Pro Series - I suck horribly at racing games with the exception of Mario Kart and Wipeout so this is already dangerous.  But it does what you want, give you cars, tracks of choosable weather and time of day, and use the wiimote like a steering wheel.

Playground - Play up to 6 playground games from dodgeball to RC car races with a bunch of ethnic Ritalin-induced kids with cucumber heads.  Sadly there was no choice to be the tree-climbing pedo.

Medal of Honour: Vanguard - yeah, like I really want another WWII shooter.  Controls were alright, but I've seen it all before.  In the words We have reached a point where the Medal of Honour games have been going on even longer than the actual war.  And that probably means it's time to be discharged.

Avatar: The Legend of Aang - Actually not a bad game even if you have no idea what the show's about, it plays like a watered down kid's version of Baldur's Gate or such.  Nothing too good about it, but it's playable.

Fishing Master - This was pretty fun for a fishing game, due to the controls having such ideas as spinning the nunchuk in a circle to reel the fish in.  I just hate the old guy in it.  He's patronising, stupid, and looks like a chibi Dr Breen.

Brunswick's Pro Bowling - Amazingly, this is a game entirely about bowling but plays way more worse than Wii Sports' Bowling.  How?  Well the balls move like planets, the strike celebrations are retarded-looking, and everyone has as much life in their bodies as cancer patients.  I saw more colour in cheeks at the end of Titanic than these pathetic rickety losers.  So far, the worst game of the 15 I played so far.

My Sims - The Sims for kids.  That's it.

Sonic & The Secret Rings - An okay story albeit slightly WTF, but awful controls.  Why couldn't you have the nunchuk to move Sonic around and the jump button be A or something easier, instead of this crash course of a game that you will either spend a level crashing into things or missing opportunities to jump.  Sonic, just stop and go back to 2D, you're not cut out for this after Adventure.

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords - Prince dude's still emo, controls are pretty good like the last two games, and the sneak kills are pretty fun to do from various vantage points.  If you loved the last two games, yeah this isn't a bad purchase.

WiiPlay - One of Nintendo's own, a range of minigames to help people adapt to the Wiimote.  Very fun, has stuff from shooting galleries to memory games.

Call of Duty 3 - Yes, the other WWII shooter series that's actually been doing it better than the tired old MoH veteran.  You know the drill here.

--------------

That's the 15 I did today.  Stay tuned for the next set coming up tomorrow!  Feel free to comment on them.

Okay, back with more shot reviews on some more Wii games.

Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy - I first thought during the tutorial it was a sidescrolling beat-em-up, which would have been quite decent with the funny attacks the characters do.  Unfortunately it became a Simpsons Wrestling kinda game and my gaming boner shrunk back into itself.  I don't even watch the show, and if you do, don't bother with this.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz - I hate this series but it is fun for other people who actually don't suck at rolling balls everywhere (curse you Mario Galaxy!)

Red Steel - I absolutely love the controls in this game.  Don't really like the cutscene graphics but the controls are just a great idea for me for the extra coolness of being able to aim your gun sideways anyway and the sword battles are pretty neat too.

SSX Blur - Not a fan of this series but some not bad wiimote-waving can pull off some nice moves.  The groove meter irks me though.

TMNT - Actually not bad at all, it has the mechanics of Prince of Persia with the skin (or shell?) of the Turtles, as well as some funny dialogue.  My only complaint is the wall-running is a bit awkward to stop, and the combat system is quite stale after a while.

Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam - He's not even fucking trying anymore.  You don't even get to explore cities of your own will, it's all just racing down streets and I'm pretty damn sure Edinburgh doesn't have that many streets of the same look.

Ninjabread Man - Oh yes, the motherlode.  Next to Bubsy 3D it's the worst platformer I ever played, so bad it got copied into another game exactly with just different graphics.  Terrible speed handling, atrocious jumping, and the game didn't even respond to 20 wiimote waves to strike out.  If Bubsy 3D handles like a tank, this handles like a jetski with a rocket.  But in the very bad non-awesome way.  I fucking hate gingerbread, and this game makes me hate it even more.  Fuck you, ginger ninja.

Disney's Meet the Robinsons - Unless you REALLY loved the film, this is just a sub-par platformer.  Sure there's lots to do but the graphics look like a soon-to-scrap Pixar beta short.  But then this is a Disney game that's not Kingdom Hearts, so what did you expect?

Metal Slug Anthology - absolute classic set of one of the greatest arcade series ever.  Simple frustratingly difficult run-and-gun game, that's way better than the PSP version for bigger screen and possibly less loading time.

-----------

That's all today, see ya for the next set.

Weeeeelllll I return with more glut.

Need for Speed: Carbon - As much as I suck the exhaust hard at racing games, this was really fun and the controls felt really nice even though the menu choosing became a bit sporadic.  The first racing game with a realistic story I actually enjoyed.  Makes me wonder when Mario Kart will make a story in their games, like F-Zero did.

Rapala Tournament Fishing - Less annoying old gits in this but more complex set up.  If you really love fishing, then sure this is a good game.  You can move around an area of water, choose various places and people to be, but that's really it.

Happy Feet - This just does not work on the Wii as a rhythm game.  I hate these kind of graphics but this would have been good on another system where you can have a dance mat.  Also, that damn tap dancing got on my nerves way too soon.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance - Absolutely awesome.  Characters feel like themselves, it has the great feel of Baldur's Gate or any of those RPGs, not too difficult menus for inventory and skills, I'm seriously gonna buy this one.

Monster 4x4 World Circuit - A poor monster truck racing game of slippery controls and very few stunts to show off.  I had more fun playing with the dirt on the wheels.

Kororinpa - A quirky puzzle game like that of Super Monkey Ball but it's rather instead a tiny little ball to roll around a maze instead of a monkey inside a big ball.  If you love these kind of games, go ahead, should keep you busy.

Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 - Actually a decent beat-em-up.  The moves seem a little complex but with a destructible environment added in, it's a bit better, as well as the actual English AND Japanese voices of the series.  Pretty sweet.

Cars - Again with these kind of graphics, ALWAYS the same graphics in every game that's based off a 3D kids movie.  Why is it always this fuzzy pixel crap?  This game is just shit, the characters look cut out and the music gets on my nerves.  I'd rather be banjo raped.

Barnyard - If you're 8, this would be quite good, lot of things to do and missions and so forth.  But other than that, this isn't worth looking into, even with slightly funny dialogue and an interesting character customizer.

Blazing Angels - Not too bad a game considering it's just another WWII game but this time involving planes.  And the controls for flying the plane are actually quite fun, as if you're controlling the joystick.  It was pretty new to me, and it was great until I crashed into the church.  Ah well, at least the title was accurate.

Far Cry: Vengeance - This to me felt like a bad rip-off of Half-Life.  Not by plot, but by shoddy graphics, godawful ragdoll physics as well as death sounds as wooden as Pinocchio fucking my door and samey weapons.

Open Season - Welcome to samey platformer number 54.

Ice Age 2: The Meltdown - Samey platformer number 45.

Rampage: Total Destruction - I really wanted to enjoy this game but the controls are just fucking atrocious.  Pointing the wiimote in the direction you want your beast to go sounds easy enough but the thing is, you just like point the wiimote DOWN to make your beast go forwards, and point it UP to go further into the background.  It's just really really irritating and as stupid as the photographers at your monster feet taking snapshots of their death.
And just when it seemed to have a lot of unlockable characters too, even with only 4 stages.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent - Tom Clancy, move on.
No seriously I'm tired of this crap, but I did like the Splinter Cell series so yeah this is a good game, nothing else to say here.

FIFA 08 - Just an association football game (soccer to you ignorant Americans), and while it has the nice choice of easy wiimote controls or slightly trickier (as in, you do everything like you're supposed to) nunchuk controls, this will never be better than FIFA 05...or was it 06.....no it was 05.

Rayman Raving Rabbids - I dunno what the fuck is going on but it's hilarious, not painstakingly cute, and the wiimote has many fun ways in this game.  Cow hammer is win.  Also, MUTHAFUCKIN' MISIRLOU!!!

----------------

That's it today.  See ya tomorrow for moar.

It gets worse folks.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab - Oh you know what's coming up.  You're gonna be frothing from bad jumping, the inane laughter will want to make you deaf (or in my case, more deaf than usual), and the garish colours make you feel your wasting the gift of sight you were given.
Well, it is.

Super Fruit Fall - One of the most frustrating puzzle games I ever played.  And not in a good way, this game is just inane and stupid.  Also, is it me, or do backgrounds that are obviously photographs really fucking irritating?

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - I'm not gonna get into an argument about Wii/Gamecube controls here so let's just say it's Zelda, it's the same quest with different places but everyone loves it for the damn good reason that the series is great.

Wing Island - it feels like a bad Pilotwings with only one way to play it.  Goddammit, I miss being Birdman.
HA HA!  Crappy game.

Super Paper Mario - Combining the old-skool Super Mario with the depth and colour of Paper Mario (hence the title), it's a wonderful game with a great sense of humour, smart puzzles (except that hamster wheel bit, that was just really awful) and actually perhaps the most darkest story in the Mario saga.

Alien Syndrome - A crappy sci-fi third-person shooter using a camera angle from Baldur's Gate.  That's not a compliment, because at least in Baldur's Gate I can remember moving the damn thing around.

Hot Wheels: Beat That! - This is actually a cool racing game.  Nice unlockables, decent simple controls and a few weapons like from Wipeout as well as optional challenges and good music.  If you liked Micro Machines but kinda hated the top-view, then you'll love this.

Anubis II - Remember in my mini-review on Ninjabread Man of how it was entirely copied into another game?  This is the other game.  So because of this, I'm going to just copy and paste my review of Ninjabread Man entirely into this one.
Oh yes, the motherlode. I fucking hate games that are set in Ancient Egypt except for Tomb Raider, and this game makes me hate it even more.  Fuck you, fake chibi Anubis.
See, I put in just as much effort as they did there.  Changed a few words but it's all exactly the fucking same.  It has EXACTLY the same fucking controls, the same music, even the very same fucking level layout of the bad jumping, the atrociously unresponsive attacking, and the spastic long-range attacks.  I shit you not, the tutorial mission was laid out precisely the same, platforms and all except they changed the scenery.

Spiderman 3 - Not as good as the last two, kinda like the movie is not as good as the last two, you can't call it out for not being true to the movie anyway.  The dialogue is funny enough, the controls are bland but responsive at least.  Nothing much more to say here.
Also, I fucking hate that logo.

G1 Jockey Wii - This is the same case for me with the Rapala Tournament Fishing.  Great if you love the sport and have enough patience to go through all its complex controls.

Cooking Mama: Cook Off - Here's a Ritalin-high game for ya!  Cook with a shiny-eyed momma doing all kinds of things from stirring bowls to cracking eggs.  Actually makes good use of the Wii controls, so worth renting anyway if you're into this.

Bust-a-Move - Bub and Bob the bubble-popping dragons return with their classic puzzle game, the wiimote being a fine control for this classic series.

Elebees - Konami's unique shoot-em-up puzzler of capturing electrical pikmin-like creatures to charge up power to rooms and electrical appliances, in order to power up your capture gun and progress to new areas.  Certainly original and kinda addictive too.

Mario Strikers Charged - Another Mario sports game, and whaddaya know, it's actually real good.  The controls are simple to get used to, the characters are fun and variable with enough madness on the pitch to get you into it.  Certainly way better than FIFA 08.

Counter Force - Slowest shoot-em-up ever.  You're a giant robot destroying monsters at the speed of 10 knots, and you dodge just as fast as a Millennium Falcon (moving lazily to the left?  Wow you know some maneuvers!), so it's really a time limit on when you'll eventually die.  Also, worst voices in a game since Zero Wing.
"Prepear fore Bartle."

Mercury Meltdown Revolution - A strange puzzle game like Kororinpa but with more obstacles, you control this blob of mercury to navigate through mazes filled with hazards.  If you enjoy puzzles, this is actually pretty fun.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - The only fun I had with this game was when I actually managed to spell Caribbean right.  Also, another game poorly using QTEs.  Fuck this.

Billy the Wizard: Pocket Broomstick Racing - I would have been a little more fair to this game if there was at least ONE kid with a badly drawn scar on his head, but nope, not a Snitch in sight.  This game is a piece of shit's own shit.  Controls are poor, graphics look familiarly bad, and the music....wait....it's the SAME music from Ninjabread Man/Anubis 2!  THE SAME FUCKING PRICKS!!!  At least this game is different, but that's not a compliment.
Speaking of scar-headed wizard boys....

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - I'll be honest folks.  This game isn't bad.  The wiimote is perfect for casting Expelliarmus, Wingardium Leviosa, Depulso and other spells.  The Harry Potter games haven't been that bad actually, I remember the Chamber of Secrets on PS2 which was actually a decent platformer with a lot of collectibles, and the voices are just as okay.  If you REALLY love Harry Potter, yeah this isn't a bad deal.

Crash of the Titans - Now, I am not a fan of Crash Bandicoot, but the old PS1 games were fun.  Then, like Spyro, he suffered in the jump to the next generation badly, and was soon forgotten in favour of....what's the name of that weasel thing with the elf kid?  Anyways, Crash is pretty much forgotten now and this poor platformer with annoying voices.
Also, Uka Uka may not be white, but he should not sound like he's from Detroit.

Spiderman: Friend or Foe - A rather decent beat-em-up with co-op mode readily available which isn't bad at all, and actually is better than Spiderman 3.  Also, no fucking PS3 font, bonus!

Pangya! Golf with Style - The only style in this game is nauseatingly cute.  This has the worst controls I've ever seen in a sports game.  You whack the ball and it just flies off wherever the fuck it wants to no matter how straight you chip it.  And this is from Tecmo, the people who made Tecmo Super Bowl.  Oh how the mighty athletes have fallen (insert Barry Bonds joke here).

Shrek the Third - Meh.

Mario Party 8 - Having never played a Mario Party game since the very first one (which I finished 100%, bitches), this is a pretty fun game, naturally perfect if you have friends and not a sad lonely wanker living at home with no friends nearby and no internet connection for his consoles (yet).
I only really hate the announcer in this game, he's really really irritating and if there was an option to turn off voices, I would except that I like hearing Yoshi.

Rock 'n' Roll Adventures - Oh yes, the motherlode. I fucking hate most country/western music, and this game makes me hate it even more.  Fuck you, Elvis rip-off.
(Yeah guess who came back with ANOTHER copy of Ninjabread Man with a different texture)

Driver: Parallel Lines - I hated the first Driver so I went in this with little expectation of fun for me, but the whole layout's been changed now.  Now it plays like a poor man's GTA Vice City, except instead of the 80s it's the 70s.  The music's great in this though and it's not a bad game, with more focus on cars than people.

TransFormers: The Game - MEH!

------------------------------

Now we near the final 11 games, bitches.  11 is a number I do not like (I have a thing against double digits like 11 or 33) so already ill foreboding is on the horizon.  Stay tuned for the final conclusion of

I don't like to ask <<

And so we come to the finals, folks!

Dave Mirra's BMX Challenge - I knew this was going to be as fun as riding a rusty bike (and about as much control of one too) but this is better than Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam.  SOMEONE has the right idea.

Rockstar's Table Tennis - Actually quite fun, even if you're not too into table tennis.  The graphics are pretty sweet, the difficulty takes some skill like any good sports game should too.  Nothing wrong with this.

Scarface: The World is Yours - Naturally, the only way this film would work as a game, is as a GTA-kind of game.  But that's a good thing.  I never saw the original film other than the famous clips so I dunno about film accuracy but from my unbiased opinion, it's rather fun.  You have to rebuild your criminal empire back from the burning ground with a culmination of drugs, exotic stuff and and moneys.  Voice acting is great in this as well.

The Sims 2:  Pets - Say hello to my little friend!  SAY IT, BITCH!  LOVE MY FUCKING AWESOME DOG OR I WILL STEAL YOUR TOILET!
Yeah this game sucks, just get Nintendogs.

Monster Trux Arena - Oh yes, the motherlode.  Next to Bubsy 3D it's the worst platformer I ever-oh HANG ON.  This is a RACING game.  And actually different!  Holy shit and guess what?  :D
It's fucking shit!  There you go, Data Design are now the Uwe Boll of crappy gaming companies.  They even do reuse one piece of music from Rock n Roll Adventures, so they still haven't FULLY learnt their lesson.  If I find their HQ I'm probably going to froth unconditionally.

Big Brain Academy - If you love these kind of recent test-your-brain games, then this is pretty awesome.  Apparently I'm very good at Identifying and Memorising, but suck on Computing like maths and that.
Of course I already knew this before I played the game but nothing wrong with some "official" clearance of such.  This isn't bad at all but Brain Age or this game's DS equivalent would be more suitable due to being on a DS and therefore able to be done anywhere.

Trauma Center: Second Opinion - This was the game I spent the longest time on, because it sucked me in like an episode of ER.  This game is even better than the DS one, even if it's just a remake onto the Wii, but the wiimote controls are much better and more free than the DS stylus on that little annoying screen.  I can have an easier less impossible time on it now!  The Healing Touch is harder to do but at least I can finally say that there is not one single case of Lupus in this game.

Thrillville:  Off the Rails - You know who was Off the Rails?  The dickhead who stole this idea from Bullfrog Entertainment and made it shittier.  I'm gonna just call this Millville in a sneering tone so it sounds like mildew.
Mmmmmmmeiiiilllvielllllle.

Boogie - Oh joy I get to play as the stupider-dressed cousin of Patrick from SpongeBob trying to make his own music video with shittier effects than 3D Movie Maker or those Bratz recording equipment toys?  Where's Hannah Montana's cunt to lap from, I want in on this!

NBA Live 08 - Not bad though this seems a little harder than FIFA 08 due to a less nicer camera.  I couldn't even win with the Spanish team, but then I forgot they're cheaters.  And cheaters never win, kids!

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - Three words for you.  Samus muthafuckin' Aran.  I need say no more.  <3

Aaaaaaaand that's the end of the 80 games.  I had some laughs.  Now fuck off and buy the good ones.
