This evening in Tempest 1 we are playing warpath, natural vote comes up at end of map and extend wins like 10 -6 whatever, then suddenly a map vote comes up for different maps and avanti wins, we go to avanti within 5 minutes a vote saying is warpath the next map? that wins 9-7 then another vote comes up that says is gravelpit the next map, well that wins too. My question is why the hell and who is putting up so many choices and what the hell is thier point? Annoying!!!!!!! Let us at least play through the time limit on a map we voted for in the first place - avanti.

Was it an admin who started the votes or did people rock the vote? Cause it takes various people to rock the vote to start one. If it was an admin please speak out now who it was. This isn't a completely bad thing or anything but you gotta let the map run a couple of rounds. Admins should only start votes upon public request. Using it this constantly I would deem "admin abuse" to get maps you personally don't want to play. In the words of famous Mr Spock: "The needs of the many outweight the needs of the few". So please don't keep putting up map votes after only a single round of playtime and only if majority people want a map change. Other then that its suggested that admins should start votes if people ask for it or a server starts dying down dramatically. That is all. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

I think it was doing it on its own. I know at least twice I've been on the server when it switched maps, and literally immediately it put up a poll. I know it wasn't an admin because there wasn't one in there.

It wouldnt be no big deal if it was RTV's then at least it would have been because people wanted it. It was poll questions asking Will warpath be the next map yes or no, or will Gravelpit, when we just started avanti that we voted for =/ I do not know but i only assume that is admin who does that, it was just real annoying. RTV is great i want people to rtv and change the map when they dont like it so the server doesnt clear out. That is not what was happening though. There was admin there.

It has been doing that for the last few weeks. I don't think its an admin...because some of the first times it started doing it was on Tempest 2 and we were all kinda wonder wtf was going on. There were 3 admins on the server and I asked around if somebody was initiating votes...nobody was, I think it was donkeypunch, myself, and somebody else..... Regardless it kept popping up about every map change which made it seem to me like it was something automated going on.
*edit* I meant to say every map win...not every map change. Quote:

I was there for this. There was one multi-map vote that was either end of map triggered or rtv. I think it was rtv. I believe it failed but the top two choices were gravelpit and warpath (or avanti?). Then there was a single map vote, which as far as I know can only be triggered by an admin for the first top choice, it failed. After that failed another single map vote came up with the other top vote from the rtv. I'm pretty certain that this single map votes can only be triggered by an admin and I'm pretty certain than an admin was handling the vote stuff in this case. I think it was a bit confusing because the vote screen thing disappears so quickly, but a whole bunch of people were voting right away, and people were complaining about the map so what I think was a progressive narrowing of the vote seemed like a whole bunch of random map votes in a short period of time. The ones at the end of warpath i believe were end of map triggered. It was being in Avanti for about 5 minutes or so and the single map choices coming up that i found annoying, and not only me, if people wanted to change it they could RTV but that never came up that i saw. The problem as i see it is, rtv wasnt triggered that i know - the server was full not emptying so why is single map votes even coming up at that point, i like avanti and i love it full so i was having fun. I dont mean to accuse anyone if it was doing all this on its own but i was beyond annoyed trying to play and having these votes coming up so much during play.

I think we were just on avanti not long before though - like we went avanti>goldrush>avanti or something like that. maybe we do have some kind of buggy weirdness going on! I know I've seen times where the end of map vote thing doesnt get triggered, or it gets triggered too late to complete voting before the map changes itself. it's quirky. Well i had been playing several hrs and it was the first time we played Avanti - i was healing you dick, we just finished warpath - avanti for a couple min - then went to gravelpit - then it went to goldrush i played a bit then went to bed so i know nothing about after that. It really isnt that important anyways i just wanted to point out that so many votes in one map soon after it starts is very annoying whether someone is doing it or the server is.
