I have a bizarre issue where my keyboard simply will not type more than three or four characters at a time in TF2 without erasing the characters typed before them. This means my communications skills are apish at best with enemies. Chances are if I'm eating your rockets I probably don't want to dignify your words with a response anyway but I figured I'd better mention it in case some of you were wondering what kind of an idiot I was when typing --KB NO WOK...KB NO WOK-- Someone today asked me if I was Canadian. Lol Also I've tried three different keyboards and they all do the same thing so I don't know what the heck is going on.

ps2. It is strange. Doesn't happen under any other circumstances either. It has led to some memorable conversations though. Don't have any usb keyboards although I tried a ps2/usb adapter but then for some strange reason I can't get into the bios so dropped that idea.

Forget the adaptor. Make a friend, borrow said friends USB keyboard and try it out. Then knock out said friend and keep it. PS2 port could be bad. You could have a bent pin, etc... How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Virus! You can bind on of your f keys, like f12, with a bind command. In console, type: bind f12 "say Hi, I'm Chris Hanson." And when you hit f12, it will type out your phrase. Otherwise, I say call a priest, your shit's possessed. You should be more like Cantrip. Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." GivePeaceAChance: "If the Tempest had nipples, I'd pinch that shit." Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. " WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore." GivePeaceAChance: "OMG MY NIPS ARE HARD" llenta: "cantrip, you fail!!!" Filliam H. Muffman: "i'm on top of dick"

Its those hax0r programs you installed, its messing up tf2.

Pyros. They shout and curse. Stabbing wildly. More brawlers than warriors. They make a wondrous mess of things. Brave amateurs.

Splinter wrote:I donno, looks alright to me. Hey you caught me testing my keyboard! TESTING ONE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE. What do you think I was doing there? lol That was one of the very few times it worked. I had just changed keyboards and it worked for awhile. No haxor programs I use command line only. Borrow a keyboard from a friend? Making friends seems like too much work. I never made any changes to cause this. As far as I can remember it has been this way since the day I started playing and none of the updates have fixed it. Every great once in awhile it seems to work but I can't think of anything different I'm doing that would cause that. I suppose it's possible it's the ps\2 connector on the motherboard itself. But then...why only in TF2? Nope that ain't it. Heya Splinter didja record any of my more frustrating conversations?

Is there a "go to top" button in TF2 that sends your cursor to Character 1 of your text line? Like, on a Mac, (this was the only hard thing to get used to), if you hit "up" while typing, it sends to the beginning, and down to the end... makes editing a bitch at first). Maybe TF2 is reading mouse movement, or clicking, or certain characters, or something as that escape character that would send your cursor to the beginning? Orrrrr maybe it's just the way TF2 is rendering your text; have you trioed typing a full line yet? Maybe you only see 3 or 4 characters but the game is actually reading your entire line you just don't know it yet. silverwasp wrote:Be careful what you wish for... Well it started working yesterday for some inexplicable reason. I am now free to degrade mine enemies at will. What a wonderful thing!
