My laptop died. Well it didnt really. Its in a human vegtable state. When I power it on, the LEDs on the keyboard surface turn on fine, and all, except the screen does nothing. Not a flicker, a beep...not anything from the screen. I have listend for fans, one fan turns on for a second after hitting the power button then it dies. My guess is that my hard drive died on me? Anyone else have any ideas? No. Very unlikely that it's the hard drive. Sounds more like motherboard or cpu issue. Possibly the psu. Hopefully you have it under warranty? If not you'll be lucky if it's the cpu which isn't terribly difficult to change but is some work. If it's the motherboard you're in real trouble. I would do the following Remove all but one stick of ram(making sure your ram is snug in the socket) Remove HD Turn on machine and see if anything changes. Report back.
