Ok, here is the deal.  I am still having problems with internet connectivity.  I am running a Lynksys router.  My connection will go out.  I can run an ethernet cable from one end of the house to the other and get connected or I can reboot my router and cable modem and wait, reboot, wait, reboot, wait and it will sometimes reconnect.  The quickest fix I have found is also the strangest.  I can do a system restore to several days back and it will connect like a champ.  It seems to me like a Windows problem but I am an idiot so I doubt it is the problem.  I thought it might be the router was going bad but if that were true then system restore would not correct it, right?

My question is this:  If it is a Windows XP problem should I a) reinstall windows XP or b) Go ahead and get Windows Vista.  I know this sounds like throwing the baby out with the bath water but I am not sure what my fix will be.

Help a brother out please.

Sounds like a DNS problem to me.

Does the wireless network ask you for a password each time? If not, check and make sure that the password you have is correct. Is there any kind of encryption (WPA, WEP, etc) enabled? test the router with no security and see if things improve.

It could be a number of things. I would not reinstall / upgrade windows just yet, although I am running on Vista Home Premium and would reccomend it to anyone with a good PC and half a brain in their noggin.

Done.  Thanks.

Should my desktop fonts be in Arabic?  Just kidding.  Thanks to both of you for your input.  I will keep an eye on it to see if it is fixed.
