Maryland, or Federal Little League 11-12 year old Allstars. I used to play for them when I was 12. I'm super excited over their 8-3 win against Pennsylvania tonight. They are amazing. They had 4 homeruns tonight, including a grand slam. They won Districts, which is their own section of the state, then they won States, and tonight they won the Mid-Atlantic Regionals. They are unstoppable and have many homeruns each night. Their Stats: Maryland District 1 Tournament

So let me get this straight. You play on a team for years and they don't win any championships. Then you stop playing with them and they go to regionals? I think I know what the problem was . . . i played for them once. and we lost because we had a female coach who doesn't know what she was doing. we also didn't have a 12 year old who was as tall and weighed as much as a 17 year old and hits 3 home runs in one night and throws a no hitter in that same night. -.- Cantrip wrote:When I die, I want to be reincarnated as a woman's jogging bra.

Having a 12 year old that talented does tend to make a difference.

Well they just played for their first game at 10pm. They won 3-2 without a single hit. Andrew Yacyk (Yay-sick) the 6 foot 12 year old pitched for 4 and 1/3 innings with 10 K's and 1 run (a HR) allowed. In the top of the 6th (Maryland is the home team) there is 2 outs and the tieing run on Third Base, the batter hits the ball to thirdbasemen and he makes a bad throw to First Basement (Andrew Yacyk) who has to get off the bag, catch it, turn around and dive to first and got the last out of the game. I never understood little league championships. In my last year of playing my team had a record of 11 wins, 1 loss, 1 tie - as I recall the best record in the league, though another team was close. Our last game was our last game. No championships or anything. Suited me, though. I had had enough. We got that record on the merits of the team as our coach was an asshole that nobody liked. I even had the best batting average on the team.

My little league team was the Homestead Grays, named for the Negro League team. I was the only white kid on the team.

Well they lost yesterday 15-5. Washington has some explosive hitters. They play again today on ESPN2 at 8pm EST. They play Louisiana who is 2-0 (Federal is 1-1) I think they need to win today to make it the semi-finals. I'm not sure, the LLWS rules confuse me. Alright, so they won yesterday 6-4, giving them a 2-1 record, which tied with 2 other teams. Since only 2 advance, the tie breaker is based on runs scored, and in order to win yesterday, they had to score 10 runs in 3 innings, or 11 in 4 innings, or 12 in 5 or 6 innings. Once they reached the 5th inning, they knew it would be impossible to do. So they were strategizing and one of the kids said, "let's just have fun," and the coach said, "i like your idea best" and that's what they did. pretty exciting Cantrip wrote:When I die, I want to be reincarnated as a woman's jogging bra.
