You may have noticed the price of baked goods has increased over the past few years. At Whole Foods, my bagels have gone up from 50 cents to a dollar (and cream cheese has gone up from complimentary to 50 cents). This has been attributed to an increase in price of wheat and, consequently, flour. In two years, a 100lb bag of flour has gone from 20 dollars to 50 dollars. We can thank our friend, the government, for giving subsidies to farmers for growing corn intended for shitty, inefficient ethanol that doesn't cut back on emissions as well as most of the other fuel alternatives.

Speaking of subsidies, what happened to all those government-subsidized farmers who are paid to not sell their wheat in order to keep the price from inflating?

Mario hopes that Obama stays true to his promises to bring us wind and solar power, lowering the cost of electric vehicles and allowing him to drive to work in a Tesla.

Everyone knows that corn for ethanol is a stupid idea anyway. Use switchgrass or stop wasting my tax money.

Yeah, I intended for the post to be mainly comedic. Although still nobody has made any jew jokes.. maybe that's a good thing..

Bagels at QFC and Safeway are pretty much the worst. Sometimes they only have plain ones, and anything better than that is just onion or sometimes cinnamon raisin. They don't come sliced, and all they have there are the plastic butter knives. The cream cheese is usually a lot more than at whole foods, actually. Here's why whole foods is better: The cream cheese is a little cheaper, and you usually get the right amount, they have a bagel slicer and toasters, and they have about 16 different style bagels. The best is Asiago cheese, they also have a "pizza bagel" which is basically cheese and tomato, and something called "The Chevy" which has cheese, onions, poppy seeds, and some other stuff on it that I can't remember.

Big corporations like Whole Foods and Kroeger don't need to worry that much about it, but small restaurants do. I know you wouldn't hear that from most Libertarians but note I'm not calling for protectionism, it's just a problem caused by the government that should be reversed.

Yes - Jews enjoy eating bagels day in and day out, as well as complaining about money even though their savings are large enough to cover the debt of ten average american families.

Also, sad about the whole foods thing. There is a strong correlation between rising gas prices and rising food prices, but unfortuately it seems that since gas prices have lowered, food prices will remain the same. =[

As I like to say, fair food is not exactly famous for it's fair prices.
