It's good, not a great price though. If you can get one in person you could make sure it is an E0 stepping which OCs better.

You can't go wrong with the e8200. There's also the e8400 for $5 more.

Both have excellent price/performance ratios and both are built to overclock.

The Q6600 is about $20 more and you'll get about $20 more worth of performance out of it.
All these are good. The wolfdale chips(E8XXX) however are absolutely superb overclockers.
You just can't go wrong with any of them really.
If you really want to nitpick then go here and check the apps you'll be running.

My experience stops with the Dual Core chips.  It all went waayyyy too fast for me after December of last year.  Thought I would ride it out until I had to build a new machine.  Btw, the last mobo I purchased, ASUS M2N-MX SE, was delivered today after an RMA:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131249

Although I don't think mine is a Plus edition.

Cantrip's ultra-portable gaming machine is back in business . . . just as soon as I find time to build the darn thing.

My advice is to purchase what you can afford and get the mobo and cpu at the same time, while reading the fine-print, making sure they will play well together.  Memory, make sure the memory plays well too.  And bench build the thing as quickly as you can after you get the parts just in case one of them is bad, you can return it within the small window that these companies allow for returns.
You should be more like Cantrip.

Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ."
GivePeaceAChance: "If the Tempest had nipples, I'd pinch that shit."
Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. "
WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore."
GivePeaceAChance: "OMG MY NIPS ARE HARD"
llenta: "cantrip, you fail!!!"
Filliam H. Muffman: "i'm on top of dick"

My motherboard will run all he way up to quadcore cpus i wont have any problem with any of the cpus. I odnt want to spend more than like $180 on a cpu if that helps any.

That's a great little board. I've built a couple systems for family with it.

Most weekends frys has E8400s + cheap mobo for $150 +tax ~163 after tax. You can sell the board on Ebay if you don't need it for $25-$30. If you don't have a frys nearby that e8400 posted above is decent.
