Tonight's the big one, the last time both candidates will appear together before the November election, and the stakes are high! - WHAT: United States Presidential Debate between Barack Obama and John McCain
- WHEN: 6:00 PM PST / 9:00 PM EST
- WHERE: All major news networks (NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, FoxNews, MSNBC); Also streaming feeds on news sites (CNN)
Will McCain cause an upset? Will Obama put to rest questions about his past associations with Bill Ayres and ACORN? Will Whut pass out before the debate is even over?? Who cares? Let's drink!Come join us for our Presidential Debate drinking game in the WDFNews IRC chatroom: - Server: irc.gamesurge.net
- Channel: #wdfnews
The game during the last debate was good but a bit one-sided. We definitely need to balance things out but not overload it so much that McCain's "My Friends..." cause us liver failure. Drinking whenever Obama says "Change" was a poor counterpoint, so I'd like to suggest a few new ones: Take a drink whenever:
- Obama ties John McCain to George W. Bush
- Obama says some form of "Let me be clear..."
- Obama mentions tax cuts for the wealthy
- Either candidate says "Main Street"
- Either candidate says "pork barrel"
- Either candidate says "bipartisan"
- Either candidate says "fundamental"
- McCain says "My friends..."
- McCain references not winning "Miss Congeniality" or any other fictional Washington popularity contest
- McCain gesticulates in a way that, if he were playing an accordian, would allow him to play with any decent cajun band
Granted, I think this list is way too big. We can narrow it down and mix things up (such as finishing your drink / double-shot for a McCain accordian maneuver). We can discuss here or in the chatroom, but tonight's going to be a drunken fiesta so come on by! HolyJaw wrote:In the end, everything Endyss said.

Here's the chatlog from the last half of the debate. Chatzilla wipes everything if it crashes, which it did. Wahh. And the automatic tables don't work in this damn editor. If anyone has a more complete version of the log, or one with less eyestrain, post it and I'll delete this crap. On an off note, places of mild interest are the parts involving McCain's healthcare plan (control+F and look for "stimulus check") as well as the epic discussion on Portal gun advanced physics near the end.

ooh oooh.. is precondition one?
<Rikaelus>
it should be
<Endyss>
lol
<CiaoTime>
what are the key words?
<Endyss>
"My friends" and references to not winning popularity contests for mccain; tax cuts for the wealthy and linking mccain to bush for obama
<Rikaelus>
Endyss: That's one lie I've seen McCain endorse, that Obama's plan will force you away from your current doctor
<CiaoTime>
Replace "tax cuts for the wealthy" with "small business owners" for Obama, in my opinion
<CiaoTime>
Average Joe is awesome.
<Endyss>
He was awesome when he took it to obama, i agree
<CiaoTime>
Funny how Joes are usually the least affected by the stock market breakdown
<CiaoTime>
because they don't have stocks
<Rikaelus>
McCain must think Joe Plummer wants his health care taxed instead...
<Endyss>
that's crap
<CiaoTime>
meh
<CiaoTime>
the system you have now is fine
<CiaoTime>
better then ours
<Endyss>
shh, don't tell the left
<CiaoTime>
sorry
<CiaoTime>
death to america
<Rikaelus>
What we have now we can keep
<Rikaelus>
This is a backup system that Obama wants
<CiaoTime>
Or give it to us
<Endyss>
a backup we all get to pay for
<Bizness>
tax that shit
<CiaoTime>
hell yeah
<Rikaelus>
Better than people getting sick which, if left unchecked, can become a national problem
<CiaoTime>
my live feed is crapping out
<Rikaelus>
wait what.. now Joe's a worker? I thought he had a small business...
<CiaoTime>
Small business owner!
<Bizness>
most small biz owners are workers :)
<Endyss>
I don't get it, people without health insurance would get $5000, employees whose company continue to provide healthcare wouldn't change, so what only the people whose employers discontinue healthcare would have to pay more than the $5000?
<Endyss>
ROFLMAO!!!! Senator Government!
<CiaoTime>
Senator PLAAAAANET
<Rikaelus>
There it is again... he's saying Obama's plan will dictate your future, even though Obama's plan doesn't change current systems...
<CiaoTime>
"The Democrats are controlling the system"
<CiaoTime>
"I'm paranoid"
<Endyss>
...............i don't think the government should be providing healthcare

Saber has left irc.gamesurge.net (Quit)
<CiaoTime>
which is what you have now
<CiaoTime>
Isn't it?
<Rikaelus>
I think it should provide some; a bare minimum
<Endyss>
if you're poor or old, yes
<CiaoTime>
That's more of a government pension thing
<Bizness>
ginsburg is a twat
<CiaoTime>
I'm unfamiliar with roe vs. wade
<Endyss>
only because she's a stickler on federal subject matter jurisdiction
<Endyss>
but i'm guessing that's not what you meant
<CiaoTime>
He means that ginsburg is an overall twat
<Endyss>
roe v. wade said states couldn't outlaw abortion
