Typical. People love the democratic process until it doesn't work in their favor. The right for blacks to have their votes counted was put to vote like everything else and it lost. I can understand not being happy with the results, hell I would have voted against it myself, but they're forgetting the will of the voting population, not just themselves. I'm sorry, but the buck stops here. There is no reason why the will of the fewer should have more say than the majority, even if its an issue like being treated like a human being and having equal protection under the law.

#1:  Race =/= Sexuality.

#2:  U.S. Constitution  > State Constitution

#3:  Slaves were not considered civilians and therefore the argument is not the same.

#4:  Slavery =/= Marriage

#5:  Homosexuals have civil unions/domestic partnerships/other means of achieving similar and/or same benefits primarily in regards to inheritance, medical, etc.

Nice bomb though.  You'd be better served trying to use Jim Crow or other discriminatory laws.

I don't even need to get into the fact that it was a drafted portion of the Constitution and not therefore simply a majority vote as was Prop 8.

Endyss would probably have a more thorough explanation but this is as far as I'm knowledgeable on it.

Mocking another poster's thread on Prop 8?

No, not really.  I should be within melee combat range.

Oh I see. A "spoof" on another thread I had yet to read.

Yeah, it's all stupid, and there are similarities despite what Richard seems to think.

Just because a square is also a rectangle, doesn't mean the rectangle is a square.
