Nice try, but politically meaningless.

If you're not already convinced that Obama's economic plan is the embodiment of income redistribution, nothing in that clip is going to change your mind. That, or you support the policy anyway, in which case the clip should just solidify your support. In reality, though, the uninformed votes that will carry Obama to victory aren't out of love and understanding for his socialist fiscal agenda. Sensation, hatred for Bush, and race are the orders of the day.

Do prepare yourself, however, for a scathing rebuking by the Obama campaign and the "mainstream media" for the outting of this "attack" one week before the election (since of course it was intentional). I just find it interesting that a clip of something the candidate actually said will be treated as an "attack", as though the source changes the fact that he said it.

Ah....The ignorant masses voting for Obama.......I suppose its better than having an ignorant candidate.

There are ignorant people voting for both of these candidates.  Racism and theologically justified bigotry surely lead a fair number to vote for McCain, just as racism and the image game of something "new and fresh" -- change -- lead others to vote for Obama.  I'm just saying that there are more on the latter side, and this clip isn't going to change anyone's mind in either direction.

So, you assume that more than 15% of Obama's supporters are ignorant?  Since that is the number of registered voters who claimed they would not vote for black man according to a NYTimes Poll about a month ago.

If as it seems you are putting racism as the measure of ignorance, then what you're asking is whether more than 15% of the people voting for Obama are doing so because of race.  I'll confidently say yes to that.  I can't find a NYT poll saying 15% of registered voters wouldn't vote for a black candidate, but either way, I'm quite sure the number of people voting for Obama because of his race far outnumbers the people voting against him because of it.

I sincerely doubt that.  Obama's race is a hinderence, not a benefit.  Now, the majority of Blacks who are voting for Obama, are not voting for Obama because of race, but because of their political beliefs.  This is nearly indisputable if you examine polling data from the last few elections where the Black community have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats.

Logically apt, however there's the possibility that Obama running will get more blacks to the polls than in the past. Voters may not turn from republican to democrat, but more people will go out and vote for democrat that wouldn't have been as inclined before.

Maybe the Financial Times endorsement will have some effect? They are a well known communist front organization afterall...

The black community has always voted overwhelmingly democrat since FDR, amirite? I don't think his race is a hindrance at all, maybe there are a few racist democrats out there, I guess, but I've always pictured the current democratic party as not really bigoted. (excluding "positive discrimination") Anyways.. I think Obama's race is a lot more beneficial to him. People want to proudly declare that they voted in the first black president.

Thank you for illustrating my point. I'm not trying to demonize anyone, if you believe redistributing income from high earners to low income earners is a legitimate function of government, then you do and shouldn't obfuscate by acting like I'm employing some kind of McCarthy era scare tactics.

I disagree with the idea that modern democrats are not biggoted.  Did you see the interviews after the West Virginia Democratic Primary?  And yes, Obama may bring out more black voters, but hes lucky, hes running against one of the worst presidents ever.  Had he been running against someone who didn't fuck us over so badly, he would lose.

on the subject of racism, today during a Palin speech someone interrupted her by shouting "he's a nigger". She stuttered briefly and then kept on going like nothing happened. WTF is that shit all about?

That's the followers of the Republican party, my friend. They're driven by hate, democrats are driven by laughter.

I mean come on...
Republicans have Hannity
Democrats have Jon Stewart!
