Theres this great website (www.tweakguides.com) that offers a "tweakguide companion" you can download for free in PDF form.
You'll need Acrobat or Foxit reader but you can get that there too ( i recommend Foxit!!)
Anyhoo...the Companion is real helpful to those who don't much about Windows XP and need help....it's also filled with helpful links that point you in the right direction with problems you might have.....remember sometimes it could be just a real easy fix!
For me personally I can honestly call those studdering/freezes in game, a thing of the past and that guide deserves credit for helping get the most out of my PC.
Do yourself a big favor and go thru it ...you'll be glad you did  ;D

When I go thru the Tech Support section I can see alot of you w/ fixable solutions, BUT.....
when you post your problem you NEED to put down what kind of PC you have, for example....
what type of CPU do you have?  Motherboard?  Memory?  VideoCard?  What kinda Power Supply?? and so on.....
Mine is as follows so you can get a better idea....
CPU: AMD64 3700+ 2.2Ghz
Mobo: ASUS A8N-SLI
PS: Antec 550Watts
VC: XFX 7900GT
Maxtor HD 120gig
RAM: 1gig Kingston HyperX PC3200 DDR400
19" CRT monitor at 1024X768 (32bit_75Hz)
Razer Diamondback Mouse
This sorta thing can give someone a BETTER idea what they have to work with to help you ..also do other people use it and what for?
Believe it or not you can turn off Anti-Virus protection and Spyware/Malware scanners when you game!
Next thing you can do is turn off all the crap that is running in the background!!!! Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the Taskmgr will come up....
Tick "Processes" and check to see whats running on your PC ...ATM 
Right-Click on whatever "shouldn't" be running and tick "end process"....if your not sure whats what then Google it!!  It'll send you somewhere so you can find out if it crucial to keep it running or safe to turn off........
I hope you guys know that a PC was never meant for Gaming sad to say but you can learn more by visiting that site I keep telling you guys about...damn I'm gonna sound like a scratched CD but I've built 4 comps and that Guide roxors!

Anyhooo just wanna help....

REMEMBER IF IN DOUBT...Google it so you can be takin somewhere to have it explained to you in better detail...... 
as it is YOU have WAY TOO MANY processes running at the same time you game and that blows!!!
