So many counties have been declared a state of emergency... normally this shit happens in the hills between dry-ass Riverside county and Orange where the rednecks live, but this year, shit got down in to the populous areas. Yorba Linda, Brea (right on the 57 fwy), Corona, Anaheim Hills, etc. Also, San Bernadino and some other areas. I was at work early writing a paper yesterday when my Regional Director came in and told us to shut down. So we start rushing a store close with the fire racing toward us and my manager calling us every 10 minutes (are you out yet are you out yet the fire's getting closer!). Then once we left, myself and this girl I work with got to call around to all our employees and others in the area seeing if they were OK and trying to get a schedule set for today. Needless to say, I barely slept. Woke up at 8, sped home at 100MPH, showered, and then worked a 14 hour shift. I feel like a real man, now. Point is, this shit's scary. Shit's burning. People I know have no homes. Customers that we care about are lost. We almost lost two stores. Literally, the center divider on the highway, like 30 feet from one of our stores was burning. It must be pretty scary actually being near those fires, seeing things just burned away. All we get up here is the ash. You know, covers the sky and makes everything look disgusting.
