I love how Valve went and did a bunch of awesome stuff while I was gone. It's like coming home to tons of presents under the Christmas tree! :D

and then you realize its all coal

It actually looks like coal, then you pick it up and realize its actually exploding turds.  Thats right, valve got shit on your slippers.

I like the update...why this big backlash?   Its awesome that teleports can be upgraded, its awesome that demo stickies can be destroyed with bullets, and its awesome that medics can tell who is hurting most by looking at the medic calls.   And you still lament.....

Its juts valves current track record of trying to fix stuff/make it better and leaving other things half broken.  I dont think they have all the class updates planned out, so its sort of hard in my mind how they could expect to have a balanced game in the end.

Pyros. They shout and curse. Stabbing wildly. More brawlers than warriors. They make a wondrous mess of things. Brave amateurs.

Having destroyable sticky won't help. Mostly it'll blow up before you get a chance to destroy it. It only gets rid of the camping demo which isn't much of a problem.

Can you detroy them in the air?!  That would be awesome....like skeet shooting.   And I have used the breakable stickies to ruin demo's day....I always shoot thier crit stickes to they can't use them.

In other News....

Lets talk about cool ideas for Scout secondary weapons!   One I read on the boards and thought was really cool and would help scouts with goldrush and dustbowl is this:

Scattergun ----> Kneecapper. = Shotty with only 4 rounds of ammo per clip, but 100% crit guarantee anytime the scout is on a control point or within range of the cart.  This would make the scout much more threatening on goldrush, and would encourage the scouts to actually push the cart.  Right now they know they are too squishy to make concerted pushes...this would balance that squishy factor with some real teeth to bite with from anybody trying to remove the scout.

Caltrops have been mentioned.   I think that is feasible.

Messenger bag - Scout can pick up healthkits or ammo and either drop them for teammates or themselves.

Concussion bat --->  75% slower attack rate, but hits daze opponents when striking from behind (swirling screen or something to that effect..just a vision effect, not a stun) for 6-7 seconds.

destroyable stickies are stupid and I hate them. it's not quite as lame as when they fucked over the solider but it's close.

for scout my vote goes to no new weapon but instead something you can equip that when you use it you get a super speed boost for a few seconds. just fast enough that you can outrun a sentry gun for maybe 2 or 3 more seconds before it locks on and fires, anything more than that could unbalance things.

They majority of people are against anything that allows a scout to destroy or evade a sentry because it brings up old nightmares of TFC conc jumping scouts who could jump in and out of flag rooms no matter how many sentries were in there and just fucking steal the intel.  It completely negated the flag protecting aspects of the sentry.

which is why it shouldn't last long, it should just be enough to shoot you past poorly placed sentrys and even then you should get hit at the end of it. for example, on 2fort in the ramp room, if a sentry is in the back corner (on the ledge that leads to the straight stairs, but in that corner) if you hit the boost as you run into that room and go up the ramp to the room in front of the spawn the speed boost should be enough so that as you get to the top of the ramp to go around that corner the sentry should lock on and fire there. if you slow down you are dead, if you hit it right you lose a little health.
or alternately, the speed boost could be ended if you take any damage. then you could possibly rush past a sentry unless the engie nails you with his shottie. also, perhaps the speed boost could not work if you are carrying the flag, and/or are overhealed.

Concerning destroyable in air stickies, I believe you can do it. I think I did it when I was a heavy just blowing ammo down my screen and a demo shot some at my face.

I think a smoke bomb might be interesting. It would not do any damage but it would obscure the sight of everyone in the cloud including sentries for a few seconds.  This would allow a scout to quickly run by sg without detection, however this smoke screen would also alert all team members of the proximity of the scout.  If you really wanted to make things interesting add a 10% chance of "getting lost" within the cloud, which would automatically change the direction the scout was originally going.
