So I reformatted it using the Windows recovery partition I installed on there, yada yada. Service Pack 3 installed fine. However, my Logitech G5 won't respond and my graphics card's supposedly MIA. I installed a few old and new versions of SetPoint for the G5, it installs but doesn't pick up the mouse. The mouse lights up, and the DPI switcher moves if you adjust it, but Windows and/or SetPoint won't pick it up and it won't move the cursor. Trying to install the Windows found new hardware drivers always gives a fatal error message (onoz) on me. I'm stuck with this ancient ball mouse while the G5 is bricked. I installed the latest forceware for my card (It's an Nvidia 7600 GT), and it says it installs successfully. dxdiag shows the graphics card and drivers as n/a, and all apps are running in software emulation. It's not working either. So what do I have to do to get this stuff working again? Win Cookies Awarded: 7 (bawwwwww)

WTF?
I would uninstall all those G5 drivers and see if it just picks up the mouse using whatever default usb pointing device drivers windows usually uses. I have never seen where it would recognize one mouse but not the other (exception was wireless ones).
On the video drivers...try taking down your firewall for a minute while it installs ( or any other virus/spyware apps running)...I know one time i was pissed off and confused by the same problem...and later found out my firewall was blocking some internet check the installer did. It wouldnt install all the files until i did that. Quote:

Got the graphics card up and running from a combination of Giller's and EVGA's advice, yay! But my $120 mouse is still a brick. I checked the folder it was supposed to install to, and it's empty. If anyone has a G5 and 20 minutes to spare, can you contact me on Steam? I have an idea that might get this back on track. Win Cookies Awarded: 7 (bawwwwww)

Did you install the chipset drivers? Did you install the correct drivers for your video card? You need install NOTHING for the G5 to work unless you are trying to add macros to a button or something. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Nvidia's recommendation is brand new, but doesn't work. EVGA's is a few revisions older, but works better then before the reformat. So, yes. 3: Haha, I wish it was as easy as that. I am not sure what the deal is with the mouse. I have a G5 and I just plugged it in and went. I suspected a USB driver issue, but you have the chipset drivers in so that should not be an issue. Did you make any BIOS changes? Have you tried different USB ports? I am assuming this is a wired mouse. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

I've figured out that the problem lies with the installer, it keeps trying to install to the wrong folder and there's no option to change it. I have an idea that should fix it, so please help???
