I'm heading to Las Vegas for my bachelor party next weekend, and no doubt it's going to be a blast from start to finish.  I've made a tentative pinky promise with the wife of one of the other forum members here (who'll also be along because she kicks a lot more ass than some of my guy friends) to pick one day of the trip and try to stay even just a little bit drunk from the start to finish of one day, probably Saturday.

Does anyone have any advice for accomplishing this "goal", maybe prior experience?  Is such prolonged intoxication just going to result in a miserable day, ending in a premature crash-and-burn when the real Saturday night festivities get underway?  I think it'd be a fun idea, but I don't want to ruin an otherwise good trip out of some pointless attempt to remain intoxicated.

They don't like it when you bring your own booze to the craps tables.

If you bring plenty of cash or win a lot, stick with the nicer casinos and as long as you gamble, drinks are free.  It's been about a year since I've been, but the MGM, Planet Hollywood, etc had this policy.

Is such prolonged intoxication just going to result in a miserable day, ending in a premature crash-and-burn when the real Saturday night festivities get underway? YES and remember that night goes on all night. Eat, relax and rest(Gameworks maybe) during the day, party at night. Anyway, have fun and stay safe.

I'd say stick to beer during the day, then you can liquor it up at night with everyone else. As has been said, party hard at night. If you want to stay loose during the day, stick to light stuff and drink slowly, as though you're on vacation.

They had free drinks everywhere I've been to. We had a case of corona at defcon and brought it with us to the craps table at 6am. They asked us to put it away from the table. They also asked us to put away our lifesize cardboard cutout of

as already mentioned, stick to the beer. make sure it's a good quality one though, not one of those mass produced preservative filled watery brews. remember hangovers are caused by dehydration, and is exacerbated by preservatives in the drink. and remember to drink a pint of water for every pint of beer you drink if you want to keep going all day.

the food is the other thing. eat lots of stodgy greasy food, to line the stomach and even out the absorption of alcohol. milk is always good too.

the main thing though is just not to get pissed too fast, that's where the damage is done. that's why beer is a good choice, it kinda forces you to keep a steadyish pace as there is only so much you can fit in your stomach.

HEALTH WARNING: drinking more than 4 units of alcohol in one sitting is considered binge drinking and is not good for the body, and can do sever long term damage over a prolonged period.
yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

....I can't wait to see this fail.  I want to document it on your video camera....that way we have the embarrassment level to match some of the poor bastards at my bachelor party dvd.  (see one Mr. B.T.H) Also known as "the Huffah".   Yeah..thats the front porch where we left him most of the night.
