if you purchased soulstorm through steam the beta should be under un-installed games, if you have a retail copy, register it through steam and restart In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. In an age of Insanity look to the madman to lead the way.

I finally got home from my business trip to take a crack at this game. I really like it so far. Yeah its different from DoW but I dont care. Its beautiful to watch. It's closer in spirit to the actual tabletop game. I am really excited. Im not that good yet because I'm still playing with all the hero type to see what strength/weakness are. I enjoy not having to worry about base building. I really like the reinforcement model that requires you to have the support vehicle built and in the area for forward reinforcements....some players will complain, but fuck them...they are the babies who played Homeworld with infinite fuel and shit.
So far I have felt the most powerful with the Ork Warboss. He is a mean motherfucker with that wargear gun that knocks enemys on thier ass when it hits them. Eldar warlock pretty nice too...I guess i am just an offensive type player because those are nice and simple....no finesse just raw ass-kickery. I sucked it up with the SM apothecary...f
Still..if you can run the game with high. or Ultra settings....man it makes it more fun somehow. I played on my laptop on low settings and i felt like i was playing watered down DoW. Something about seeing all the excellent partical effects and modeling really brings you into the game and makes you feel like you are right there. Quote:
