But I don't know which kind to purchase. It needs to be powerful enough to pull an innertube or wakeboard, and at the same time not be super atomically expensive. I used to be strict seadoo, but I recall they changed out the engines a few years back and now they suck... I need recommendations.

Why not ask some rental outfits. Find a few places that rent them and ask what they think? Most I think would be happy to give you some info.

My grandparents bought a polaris about 7 years ago, my aunt bought the same model a year later. They ran fine and the most we ever tried to pull was 2 inertubes, which worked fine. AKA Shinobi Quote:Kick some giga-butt

Hey Whut I have owned 6 different jet skis. The best have been the Kawasaki Ultra 150 (fast as hell) and the Yamaha GP 1200 which was fast as well but more stable at high speeds. I would stay away from Polaris and Sea Poo Poo. The Japanese machines are way more reliable. I had a sea poo that broke down just after break-in. All in all, the Ultra 150 was my favorite (powerful and will pull 2 or more skiers). However, if you plan on pulling skiers or tubes, go with a three seater since they are way more stable. If I were to buy another ski, it would be a Kawasaki STX model. Lastly, Honda has a few models but I have never owned any of them. Well if you want the best of both worlds which are very fast and stable the GP200 kicks ass. However overall the best all around would be the STX because it easily pulls skiers and you can fit 3 people on it. Yamaha also has a 3 seater that is good but I can't remember what model it is. There's a comparison chart here... don't know if that's helpful... I'm sure you researched but.... Be safe and don't crash...
