They do indeed apparently have a booth at GDC, though apparently under the name "Mova" (parent company?). I'll try to check it out tomorrow and report back! HolyJaw wrote:In the end, everything Endyss said.

Mova is actually a subsidiary of OnLive, and i think they are going to have something to do with OnLive's production studio and SDK tools. I think they also have something to do with CG movie effects and facial animation technology. I saw some tech demo of a character they created called Geni4 (pronounced like jennifer) that looked very realistic, but the lip synching with her voice was way off timing, and kinda shoddy. Quote:

After the whole Phantom-Being-A-Real-Console fiasco a few years back, I'm skeptical that this system is actually going to work. This whole company is giving me a deja vu. Win Cookies Awarded: 7 (bawwwwww)

After reading a few articles on the web including this one, I'm not entirely sure it's possible. Yes, I'm a skeptic just because of the general premise of OnLive, though the concept is indeed revolutionary, but it doesn't seem realistically plausible at the moment. The technology proposed obviously needs to be "the bees knees" and better than anything ever created to make OnLive's promises worthwhile. For me, just for now, I'd rather not hear how "amazing" it is until it's tested by the masses. I have 3 predictions regarding this whole scene OnLive is creating. 1. It will revolutionize "everything". They would in someway make video compression and real time information seamless despite the factual strain present from current generation technology. Lag, streaming video, latency issues -- it would all be nonexistent or minimalistic issues on what would theoretically be considered the biggest technological leap since the creation of the car. =P 2. Epic FAIL (what some of us want). I don't mean "You've been pwned, noob!" fail on the internet, I mean "You've just made an ass out of yourself to the whole world" fail. Remember the Phantom? Yeah...I bet you don't want to. How about the Philips CD console? I think Nintendo learned their lesson from that. Like with these things, OnLive would be ambitious, but die under it's own so called "miracles of the technological world". 3. The best April's Fool's joke of the year. I would be happier with 1 or 3 (har har), but if all turns sore, I'll atleast say it was worth the excitment. =D DredNaught wrote:In regard to the ladies... or lack thereof: Just remember that it's about quality, not quantity.
