I'm not really one for a big group hug, but I'm really confused right now, so I'll just roll with it. =|

Several hours ago (check the date to this post), while I was preoccupied with my normal duties, I saw that my close friend had logged onto Steam. Being the good fellow I am, I went ahead and sent a simple "hello" response to him. Prior to this, we had debated about the generic plots to various movies, and after thinking about how comparing Herbie to Speed Racer was as odd an argument as Street Fighter to Mortal Kombat, I went ahead and did a follow up argument. =P

...And oh the surprise, I began talking to a certain someone who wasn't my close friend. Instead, it was his cousin -- the girl who proclaimed to hate me after an argument many many months ago.

My first impressions were "WTF is she doing?! I thought she hated my guts, etc, etc!" considering that she and I literally went at odds over something so simple as who was right and who was wrong. I expected her to instantly log off, but instead, she started to talk to me. Don't get me wrong, I didn't suddenly fight with her again, but once the first 5 minutes of that conversation started, I could tell things were...different.

She was extremely apologetic and even went out of her way to say that our falling out was her fault entirely -- something she has never done with me before. She wanted to re-amend our friendship since, apparently, her other friends didn't care much about her day to day life (pretty girl, really flaky friends =P). She then went on to vent about her life after we stopped talking to each other, and honestly, she was being very heart-to-heart with me.

Even after we saw that we did miss each other in some sense, I had this odd feeling the whole time. "What is this? Why all of a sudden does she WANT to talk to me now? What is she really after...?"

This all may be pessimism, but when that somebody comes around that you least expect, a lot of different thoughts rush right by you in an instant. So, what do you guys think? Is she legit? Do you think she's after something or just lacking in an area only I can fill? I don't honestly know, but input from others might just make my day a bit more...orderly. =/

Boosh.

You're asking us to evaluate the intentions of a person in a story you told us in which you're communicating via steam? You might as well shake the magic 8-ball.

Text is the most impersonal form of communication. Depending on circumstance, what somebody is telling you could be totally legit or total bullshit. You need to talk to someone in person so you can read their body language and hear the subtle changes in tone. However, the very fact that she was willing to talk to you means something. Talk to her in person before trying to make judgment calls on her intentions.

I'll likely have to do that to see if this were all meaningful or not. That's why I'm so weirded out about all this -- it all happened in a setting that I would least expect her in. I'll try going over to her house in the near future, though, I don't expect much. =/

Text is impersonal, but it can also be hyper-intimate because of that. Without the physical context people tend to open up a lot more than they normally would.

Anyways, yeah it sounds like maybe she is into you or something. Only way to find out where it is going is to hop on and see where it takes you. If that's what you want then what are you going to do next?
