Basically TripleBam got me hooked on this music mixing software. It's taking up most of my time lately.

There is a track supposedly named "Rock It" by "Sub Focus." Andy C. has been spinning it during his DJ sets. Heard it last year at Freaknight I think.

Anyway, the single hasn't been released, and the release of the new Sub Focus album seems to continually get pushed back, so all I've had to listen to are shitty rips from live Andy C. sets with the dumbass M.C. rambling his nonsense over the top of it.

Then I found this:

Pretty decent copy of it. Better than the crap I've found elsewhere.

The problem with this copy is A. there are a couple beat flubs and B. it's incomplete. It goes into "Time Warp" which I believe is sampled from another Sub Focus song.

So that sucked. I'd listen to it in my car, but the abrupt ending pissed me off (not to mention how it throws the flow off)...

So I decided to "fix" it.

Overall I just cut together pieces of this track to form a version listenable enough for me in my car, however, I began getting a little creative with it (creative is my way of saying I butchered it).

So, here's my version that I'm calling "Rock It (Time Warp Remix) Version A." Version A meaning I'm not done with it by a long shot.

Anyway, it's 3:43am and I've been fucking with it the entire evening and kinda got all blocked in the ol' brain of mine. Screen started to blur and I found myself chain smoking.

So, I figured I'd throw it up on here to see what you guys thought. It's not really a remix as it is a piecing together of that one youtube audio track, but perhaps you can suggest some direction I can take it in to help me get better at this software I'm using.

Hopefully you'll enjoy.

EDIT: Added latest version to this post.

And really children, please don't sugar coat it. I really want you to be critical.

Attached is a slightly reworked version which cranks up the bass like a mother fucker. As 3Bam puts it, I've made the track thick as peanut butter.

I'm not "sucking up" as you usually seem to see me. I just generally like music that goes from slow, mediumish tempo, which eventually starts to building up speed + bass.

That formula always works for me.

Example: Cirrus - "Time's Running Out"

Starts off classical like music and turns completely opposite into total technotantrum. This song gets extra credit for sticking at least with 2 classical instruments. The piano, and a few violins thrown in there.

For the next version I'm going to mess with the second chorus to try and liven it up and not have it so repetetive.

I guess 3Bam is now going to try and show me up. He's starting on his own attempt at fixing this track... lol.

My money's on him for win.

It was aight.. Everything about it was cool except for the synthesizers or whatever. I didn't actually listen to the original so I don't know what you changed.

Now what program did you use

Wow, I had never heard of this track before. But, yeah, I like the way you extended it. Definitely adding it to my playlist to listen to in the car.

So, bear in mind that I haven't heard the original as many times as you. I listened to the YouTube clip once, then listened the to Arakcheev mp3. So it's hard to make comparison pooitns, really.

What I 'll say is that I like what you did with it; you were right in your criticisms of the original. The way it just cuts off pissed me off. I wanted more. But, so does your mp3. There was a note, then it just cut. I went back a few seconds and looked at it and I think you were trying to do a quick little ending, but it really just makes it sounds like it got cut off.

Other than that, I really like how you extended the original. There weren't any noticeable aberrations from the original, at lesat not enough to make me stop what I was doing and go wat, so kudos.
