Yes you can. Ermm, let me find my "what to do when someone joins pDs" list.... ...okay......yep. Right, so you're suppose to read the forum rules...blah blah blah...something about being on the forums a lot like Muff (whoring yourself out basically)...blah blah blah......some note here about older members of wdfnews basically breaking the recruitment list and rules... Okay, yeah, if you're running steam, just put {pDs} before your name, then the [R] behind it. People are lazy so the [R] basically points out that you finally gave your soul away to Whut and the clan. We'll poll you in a week, everyone votes, then that's it. Normally the poll happens 2 weeks later, but that's more so for people who are new to get acquainted with things and figure out who to avoi-I mean...be friends with. In any of the cases, you're right. Thumbs down is not thought to have meant "Now the lions eat you." It was either a closed fist or a raised thumb.
