I'll introduce the characters first. There's me. 3Bam. There's a girl [A Girl] who I knew in high school and recently reconnected with on the Bainbridge-Seattle Ferry. I saw romantic opportunity, and asked her to a movie with me. She has my number, but hadn't called yet, as I had told her my phone would be dead for the coming days. I suspect now she didn't call because of the fellow that appears in this story, referred to as [A Guy]

3Bam: Hey.

[A Girl]: hi

3Bam: You like horror movies?

3Bam: Or movies?

[A Girl]: no she doenst

3Bam: Well, what does she like?

[A Girl]: Nothing to do with creepy kids that lay down in the middle of the street

Earlier that night, I had been cavorting about in the downtown area, and had at one point lain spread-eagle in the middle of a normally-busy intersection. I used to do this all the time as an exercise in abundance vs. scarcity.

3Bam: Hahahahah!
Ah.
That's old stuff.

[A Girl]: like and hour ago?

3Bam: Forgive me for indulging in the presence of an abundance of open road. For enjoying the things most would ignore and see as a waste.
Others see waste and the peculiar. I see opportunity for difference in experience.

----time passes----

[A Girl]: Your weird

3Bam: Some prefer that.

[A Girl]t: Some not all and not this one

3Bam: Hahah.
I have to ask, is this really [A Girl]?
She seemed so charming previously.

----time passes----

3Bam: In silence, I'm left to assume it is. That's a shame. I believed I'd found someone worth trying to spending time with. I was clearly misled.

[A Girl]: its actually not [A Girl]...

3Bam: Our conversation is done.
Thanks for your time anyway.

[A Girl]: no really its not
its her friend [A Guy]

Oh.

3Bam: If I were given to such curiosities, I'd ask how info of my being "creep kids that lays down in the middle of the street" leaked so quickly.
But I don't particularly care.
It's genuinely beyond saving.
Thanks for your time.
Goodnight.

[A Girl]: I was waiting outside her work.

I think back to when I was laying the intersection and recall a male figure in a hooded sweatshirt sitting outside a popular restaurant. It was closed, and I paid the character no mind.

3Bam: Ah, that was you.

[A Girl]: Yes

3Bam: Well, it's good to make your acquaintance, [A Guy].
Clearly, I've already made something of an impression. From this, you've extrapolated an assumption about my personality.
While there is little I can do to correct those assumptions, given human nature and the innate stubbornness therein, I can only say that I shall now retain my previous opinions of [A Girl].

-----time passes----

[A Girl]: You don't have to use big words to try and impress me...
or her
her mainly

3Bam: Articulation is important to me when I feel as though my reputation is on the line.
Being summed and dismissed with "your weird" aggravates me.

[A Girl]: Your reputation means nothing to me. I'm not from the island

3Bam: All good and well.

[A Girl]: word

3Bam: So can we get past "I saw him lay down in the street. He's weird." and progress to "Hey, maybe he's not so bad."
I mean, I kind of like [A Girl]. She and I talked on the way back to BI from Seattle.
That's how I came to add her on facebook and ( attempt ) to ask her out to a movie.
But. Given what you saw, you're somewhat against that.
I'm guessing.
I understand it can be off-putting.

[A Girl]: And you thought she was into you?

3Bam: Poor choice of words.
I saw an opportunity, I was going to try to take it.
I hardly had enough time to decided whether or not she was "into me."
But I figured "Why not?"
There are far worse things to do with my life than be interested in girls and take them on dates.

[A Girl]: I have to agree haha
But just not this one

3Bam: Ah. Taken?
Well, however it is.
I should more like to hear it from her.

[A Girl]: More or less

3Bam: You understand, yeah?
Says "single" on facebook.
I saw that and went all "Oh cool."

[A Girl]: Like I said more or less

3Bam: More or less single? Or more or less taken?
I mean, if it's "She's leaving on a boat. She won't be back. Don't get her tied back here" that's one thing.
"She's already seeing someone" is another.
And on and on and on.

[A Girl]: I won't be here.
I'm leaving soon too

3Bam: What's that to do with it? I don't understand.
Are you her boyfriend?
That would explain a lot.
( or at least this conversation )
( is she even there? )

[A Girl]: And once again I have to answer more or less
And no she's not

3Bam: Hahah.
So you are more-or-less her boyfriend?

[A Girl]: pretty much

3Bam: And she would say the same thing?

[A Girl]: I'd have to agree

3Bam: To be fair ( and I hope this doesn't land anyone in hot water ) I already asked her, and she said she would call me back. She's got my number already.
Though I understand that is more-or-less a polite way of blowing people off.
But I'm an optimistic guy.

[A Girl]: Hence the more or less.
No I'm not in town that often anymore
We both get it
But I'm back right now
So right now she's off limit

3Bam: Wait, wait, wait.
Okay.
When you're out...she's available.
But when you're here...she's yours?
Oh man.

[A Girl]: Kind of...it's complicated

3Bam: Sounds like it.

[A Girl]: Very

3Bam: Are you typically out for extended periods then? Is that why the arrangement was made?

[A Girl]: Yes
Months at a time

3Bam: You military? Fishing?

[A Girl]: Military

3Bam: Oh, cool!
What branch?

[A Girl]: Army
But alas I must cut our conversation short
I have something to do

3Bam: Okay.
If you would, tell [A Girl] I send an expressly friendly "Hello."

[A Girl]: Take care and I shall

3Bam: You also, [A Guy].

I'm confused... you laid down "in the middle of a normally-busy intersection"... "as an exercise in abundance vs. scarcity"? I guess I understand basically that:
  1. Roads are big, and
  2. Roads are empty when not being driven in.
But I think most people don't lay down in intersections because it's dangerous!

As to Mr. [A Guy], it sounds like the typical, overprotective and paranoid guy, and his snooping on his "girlfriend/not girlfriend"'s instant messenger (which btw would have been GREAT info to have before the start of the story :P) was almost certainly
  1. Invading her privacy without her permission to see if she was with any other guys, and
  2. An attempt to get you to "back the fuck off."

Just a guess!

You should kick his ass.

As always though Endyss pretty much summed everything up nicely. If I have to take a stab though I'd wager you were drunk when you lied down in the street? Either way that's pretty manly.

Is it still dangerous when there's no traffic in eye's view? It feels good. I wasn't drunk. I mean, I'd had a 16oz of High Life like half an hour previous, but that hardly constitutes "drinking." More like "Making 'The Ugly Truth' an actual comedy."

I didn't include it at the beginning because I wanted the reader to come upon that information the same way I did, when [A Guy] finally revealed himself. If I had to take real issue with anything about him and his arrangement with [A Girl] it's that I see the practice as him assuming that she's a sort of timeshare, rather than a person with individual needs and wants.

Are you sure this guy isn't some kind of creepy stalker rather than a part-time boyfriend? I think you need to talk to her about this strange conversation and that there is apparently this weird dude lurking about and impersonating her on the internet.
