LOL. Why would you know? If they don't play on the server because of your shitty attitude, I doubt they would bother to tell you about it. I could provide a long list of people that have said your attitude is one of the downfalls of the tempest servers, but I won't because I, as well, do not want to betray anyone's trust.
I will also, though, add my name to the list.

Right, I don't think anyone is disputing my bad attitude (which no one seems to deny was a thing of the past). What I'm interested in is finding out why I was banned and the proof behind it. I think the demo should be posted on this thread so all can see and we can leverage the wisdom of the crowd.

Then why did you bring it up? Saying that nobody has left becuase of your bad attitude? If you are going to bring up a point in an arguement, once it gets shot down, don't agree with the other side right away, it makes it look like you have nothing to back you up, and the other side is right. I will add my name to this list too, it is no fun playing against some1 that has a medic on him all day, and then talks shit like he is a cevo-p or something. I know you would like to think so, but I'm pretty sure you aren't Mr. Popular on tempest. [CMS]defiance - Steam: defiance018 - Xfire: defianceoby - www.constantmayhem.com

Point out when I said no one left because of me. About the medic thing, I don't beg for them. I know people and they know me, they want to be my medic. You make it sound like I hold their head under an axe and make them heal me. Sorry you are still so bitter about medics, defiance.

Yes, you aren't saying "nobody left because of me", but you made it sound like our argument was void. So you brought it up, and then you said you weren't arguing it. I haven't seen a demo or such, but I'm going to backup Crappy on this one for all of the numerous reasons already listed here. I've also been approached with concerns about suspicious activity when you play and I'll discuss that with other admins if need be. If you are not cheating (and I'm not saying you do), I will add that a player who disrupts friendly gameplay is one of my top reasons for leaving my home servers. Sometimes the over competitive nature in a public server is enough to drive regulars away, as well as give bad impression to new players on our servers. We don't tolerate certain behavior on the servers because we want everyone to have a good time, plain and simple. If you're causing issues in that aspect, you must realize that your actions and attitude will be noticed and action may be taken if deemed necessary. wrote:{pDs} TitaniumPhoenix: We're Mexican. Again, I'm not saying that my attitude wasn't a problem. Note the past tense in that sentence. I got the message loud and clear...I corrected my behavior accordingly.
Demo, please. I have absolutely nothing to hide. People will complain about top players, I've thought of complaining myself against Bendy or Drakhen. A complaint doesn't mean anything without valid proof.

After much discussion with the admins involved in the matter, here are my conclusions. There is no evidence based on what ahhhh_crap gave me that indicates bestesthwguy is cheating. If the one-week ban were being issued on this ground, it would be immediately removed. As far as I'm concerned, bestesthwguy is completely exonerated on any accusations of cheating and no one should accuse him otherwise absent more convincing evidence. On the matter of the "attitude problem," that is the more substantial reason the one-week ban was issued, and it should serve as a warning. The Tempest servers are not a democracy in regards to enforcing its rules, but we attempt to be fair to all sides in a dispute. Obviously several other players, admins and otherwise, have posted here in this thread to also lodge complaints about bestesthwguy's attitude, and those complaints are not being dismissed. Long-term bans, whether one-week or permanent, are the harshest measures we can issue to enforce our rules. Rarely do problems with a player's attitude persist beyond a few warnings and rise to a level where longer bans are even necessary to consider. When it does happen, the hope remains to the very end that the player involved will stop whatever behavior he or she is doing that disrupts the server. But the admins are limited in their ability to patiently hope for a change, since their job is to the community as a whole and one bad apple can empty a server and drive regular players away. Therefore, in the interest of fairness to both sides (ahhhh_crap who issued the ban in good faith, and bestesthwguy who is disputing it), the previously issued one-week ban will be reduced to a 1-day ban and will expire on Monday. With that said, bestesthwguy, you should understand that while it was your coming to the forums to dispute the ban that resulted in the reduction, bringing the issue to everyone's attention should also serve as a warning. You are on notice: it was your attitude on the servers that resulted in the ban. If once the ban is lifted, the same complaints continue, the server admins are authorized to reissue the one-week ban. If you have any questions about what conduct specifically other players found objectionable, feel free to discuss it with them either publicly or privately. I'm already adjusted and no further problems shall you see. In fact, I want to dispute even the 1 day ban because I don't see any reason behind this? I wasn't mouthing off or acting immature. I'm a little confused as to why there is any ban for an attitude problem when there has been no such problem for a few weeks now. I'd really like to play a little this Sunday night and put this behind me.

I'm sorry, reducing the ban from one week to one day is done as a matter of fairness to you as well as to the admins and/or other players that claim you haven't changed. I can't dismiss their objections any more than ignore your initial dispute of the ban. If you really want to appeal the one-day ban to the next level, send a PM to WDF? or catch him on Steam. He's empowered to lift the ban entirely. HolyJaw wrote:In the end, everything Endyss said.

I feel like I got the short end of the stick. I was just playing normally and out of no where, without uttering a word, I get banned for a day? Past grievances should not be fast forwarded into the present. Oh well.

I read through four pages of that, I didn't see anything out of line. I haven't been around much for awhile but I have played recently for several hours while hwguy was on. I remember being impressed that he had some skill and a pet medic almost always on a leash, but not that he was a dick in any way. Which isn't to say he is not a dick, I just haven't seen any evidence. I am inclined to trust Aww's judgment, and I think Endyss reducing the ban to one day is fair enough. A day is nothing, if Aww overstepped his bounds then a day is far less of an injustice than a week long ban. To me that is a reasonable enough compromise, so let it serve as a warning to all: Don't be a dick. And if you are a dick and you decide you would rather be a part of this community then don't be surprised if it takes awhile to build a better reputation. If you do want to talk some shit do it with humor and with people in the community you know won't take it the wrong way. A little good natured shit talking is perfectly acceptable in my opinion. At the other end of the spectrum is mocking friendly noobs who are just trying to figure out wtf is going on, that's the kind of behavior that will bring down the banhammer. In the spirit of public service, I volunteer myself as the focus of anyone's shit talking. I am horribly out of practice but I've got a thick skin and a warped sense of humor, if you wanna talk some shit then bring it on! Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.
