Do I detect racism? WTF is happening to this country if we can put someone in jail for 6 months for yawning? What does farting get you? Batting an eye? Taking a leak on the judge for sentencing you for yawning?

I want to be at this trial, if only to hear the world record of "The word 'Yawn' in Court Proceedings." Safety + Peace

I typically trash on this sort of stuff too, but at the least I could see it both sides. Now I'm imagining it's blown a bit out of proportions and the judge really is that much of a douchebag, but in all fairness I could see the guy having been disruptive <it's his cousin on trial> and then the yawn being a big of a played out act. Is there video? That'd be the thing I'd say will either get this charge dropped or confirmed by a higher court (though I would still hope with a reduced sentance...6 months taken out of a persons life over this sort of misconduct is heavily excessive, maybe a week or two is fair at the most). I'm just saying I could see the grayness as opposed to the black or white that caused a contempt of court charge, ya know?

The guy is sitting in court and the sentence is read, and in one smart ass move tries to make a mockery with a loud obnoxious yawn. I just think it's retarded that his cousin, who had drug charges, gets probation while this guy actually gets jail for a yawn. {pDs} Lead Salad: bike why did you change your name Jessica343: so I can get heals {pDs} Lead Salad: oh damn good idea {pDs} Lead Salad has changed their name to {pDs} Lead Salad (is a girl) Jessica343: hahah

If this dude was white, there'd be no issue here. It would just be some jackass being...well, an ass. So now its a black dude and there's RACISIM flying through the air. I think the 27 days in jail will be a nice reminder that the court is the judges kingdom. So don't screw with it. He was released in 3 weeks. See, there *is* justice for the blacks. He got a freakin' sentence reduction. What more do you want? silverwasp wrote:Be careful what you wish for... I have 10 younger siblings and I am only 20....
