Haha, I'm currently at Tech right now. Although last season our matchup went a little bit lopsided, I think this year will be much better since Tech is getting a lot worse and OSU a lot better. To be honest, I'm not really enthused about our team this year.

I like that you guys are playing a legit team though to start, as opposed to.. us. We're pretty much just reeling in some highschool team and knocking the snot out of them so that the players can flex their muscles.

<---------------- Roll Tide. Fairly excited. It will be a nice break from the fears of being homeless and broke from being unemployed.

M-I-Z-Z-O-U!!

It always makes me laugh, though, because we live in a college town that is NOT Mizzou-friendly (although at least the town doesn't worship a fictional bird).

Yeah doesn't KU/Mizzou have some big rivalry over some civil war antics that burned Lawrence to the ground?

I have been to Mizzou...nice campus. Though I don't think they going to be as good this year as in the past. The big 12 north is really weak...and half of teh big 12 south is ranked in the top ten in AP polls...so wierd and sucks the way the conference tournament is handled because you have 4 nationally strong south teams that have to fight tooth and nail to get a spot to play a mediocre team from the north in the conference championship. the norths only hope is Mizzou or Kansas showing well.

But I am excited about the huge SEC/Big 12 matchup this weekend. Supposed to be the most interesting game this weekend nationally.

Well, week 1 is officially over and it looks like everyone's teams did well! :) Congratulations! To Bike and Mrs. C, I am thoroughly looking forward to some friendly trash talking as our teams' match-ups begin to near (Mrs. C - 10/17 and Bike - 11/14)!!

Razor, I'd have to agree. College football is a nice break from all that bad stuff and more. It's seriously my favorite time of the year! I hope 'Bama does well for you this year (and that you do find employment because that'll make this time of year even better!)! (yes, I am a dork.)

Bike, yeah, our match-up sucked last year. You guys were doing some serious butt kicking. I'm looking forward to returning the favor this year. :)

Mrs. C, I feel your pain about living in a town that isn't friendly towards your team. Giller and I live in a state that isn't friendly to our team! Some areas are better (Stillwater - obviously, Tulsa, OKC - mostly just because it's bigger... OU fans do seem to be everywhere.............) but we live in an area where we are the definite minority. I could make a mean comment about the OU fans that live in area BUT I'll play nice since they ARE already down and out because they are starting out 0-1 after the first week (and their QB was injured which sucks royally for him, any injury to any player - yours or not - sucks). Anyways, like Giller said, we've been to the Mizzou campus (for a Weezer (!!) concert, not football) and I liked it then but I especially liked it last year when we beat you there.

Oooo, I think I did some trash talking early, sorry. It's this time of the year that brings it out in me! I tried to start a (verbal) fight with some assholes at the table next to us who were talking trash on OSU (because we had on OSU stuff and they knew we would hear them) but Giller made me play nice. I think he just wanted to make sure we weren't banned from our favorite Greek restaurant in OKC, haha! :)

Seriously, though, I am going to enjoy the banter during football season with you all (and anyone else who wants to join!)! I obviously know my Big XII teams pretty well but I'm going to enjoy following Razor's team to see how the Roll Tide does this season and will enjoy following other teams I might not normally follow!!

I'm at Utah State and love my aggies, although they aren't the best at football (just wait until basketball season though!). After the USU, I'm all about Utah, BYU and other such Utahn universities.

BYU is off to a great start, Utah beat USU (expected, but USU did better than everyone thought they would), and USU got beat... by Utah. Redundant, I know.

I know that the MU/OSU game this year is in Stillwater, but if you guys are ever in CoMo again - let me know.

That's my old stomping grounds (although I didn't actually go to Mizzou).

Wow, we really do have a nice selection of fans in this forum. Mrs. Giller, congratulations on your Cowboys beating Georgia. I really respect teams that don't go for the easy wins at the beginning of the season. Razor, congratuations on your team beating V-Tech. Although I am a Big 12 boy, I have always liked Bama.

Also, let's dedicate a portion of this post to a good hard LOL @ Oklahoma.

LOL.

Okay.

BYU isn't an easy team to beat or anything, but damn, I would have though Oklahoma would just smash them considering how well they did last season.

Mrs. Giller - I hope your Cowboys really carry the South this year. I hate to see a good school like OSU get shrouded by the Goliaths that are the Sooners and the Longhorns. Tell them to feel free to beat the living hell out of Tech when the time comes - I don't think our team will get anywhere close to how well we did last year, and last year is a more than satisfying year for me to have experienced.

Mrs. C - Mizzou has always had Tech's card. I don't get it. You guys had a pretty exciting season as well two years ago. I remember when they rolled out into the Alamodome with #1 by their names on the board (I was at the game). I was sad that they lost the game but they had a hell of a great season. I think that inspired Tech to try to do well like them the next season.
