Did anyone else watch this show?

The premise was interesting and it is a good indicator of how humans need companionship.

Survivorman is so much greater than that one Bear Gryllis show or however you spell his name.

Les Stroud is one of my personal heroes, because he hauls all that camera equipment around. Its kind of weird to think that those shots of him paddling down a river are set up, so he has to go back and get that camera afterwards.

I have seen both of those shows. Alone in the Wild was different, because he had no human contact for 50 days. He was supposed to make it in the Yukon wilds for 3 months, but only made 50 days due to lack of companionship/fear of bears/other factors.

If you have ever wanted to see hours of a grown man crying, watch this show. It is an interesting take on mankind's need for other humans, as well.

Another reason he only made it 50 days was that he had to follow the laws forbidding him large game/out of season hunting. He was not able to kill/trap enough small game to physically make it.

Into the Wild is also very similar and equally amazing. The guy who wrote it, Jon Krakauer, is the husband of one of my hischool's counselors. The book is great, the movie is kinda lame because Vince Vaughn is in it and so is that douchebag who played white speed racer.
