Yeah, so I finally had some logos made up for my Grip and Lighting company (not Pwnzord).

The art was done by none other than our own site's artistic genious, Matt Olson

http://www.flexible-elf.com/ - His website.

I'm having him do a second one for me right now, but here are the first two he came up with.

Basically there's a rental house in town that has the best logo ever. Like... the best logo ever for what we do. It sums it up perfectly and is pretty fucking baller. Those of us who don't work for them are super jealous.

So, I told him that I wanted that logo, without ripping off that logo too blatantly. I wanted it to have the same level of impact, without being a blatant fucking ripoff.

http://www.seattlegrip.com/ - Logo we all wanted.

My logo is attached. What think you?

Sorry for not resizing, but they're all high res and I didn't think I should resize them. Wouldn't be fair.

I really Like then, especially #3. My one concern, having done business cards and such in the past, is that it may not scale down well to business card/letterhead/website header size.

Here is #3

The problem is that it appears to be designed to look good at the original size, but at smaller size, a lot of that wonderful detail is gone or looks bleh. Even if you aren't going to use it this small, it limits your options in the future. My recommendation is a simplification of the details, with thicker lines and broader stretches of color though not with giving up all of the detail, as well as wider gaps and/or more contrast between letters.

EDIT: Here is the other one as well:
