I've just realised that a lot of the birth control methods and quitting smoking methods are similar. There is the pill, the patch, and cold turkey for both of them. But what I want to know is: where is the birth control gum? Is it in the works? Would you use it?

I got to invent this, it will make me rich. I've even got the the jingle already:

Just chew while you screw, no baby for you!
Warning: birth control gum does not protect against AIDS or other STI's

We've got to get people on this. Just chew a piece a day for 30 minutes or something.

Bragr, as a female who has been on the pill form of birth control for about 10 years, I'd have to say I wouldn't use a birth control gum. In my opinion it's easier to remember to take one tiny pill before bed every day than to remember if I had my birth control gum and if I chewed it long enough, etc. The reason your gum wouldn't be successful as birth control like it is as a nicotine fix for smokers is because with birth control you need only one dose every day and it needs to be at around the same time every day to work effectively. Also, birth control users don't take birth control to stop a bad habit, we are just trying to keep from getting pregnant, whereas gum for smokers serves an extra purpose by not only giving them a nicotine fix but also an active distraction from smoking.

So yeah, I don't think your plan will be quite as successful as you think but that's just my opinion as one of your target customers.

And 3bam, like Muff said, that's not gum, just a chewable pill which is stupid in my opinion. Maybe some people benefit from it though so whatever.

Have you seen a birth control pill?? It's fucking tiny.

Also, that chewable pill is apparently to combat "breakthrough bleeding", atleast that's what I got from it based on the info I got from the webpage for the minute I spent looking at it.

Oh noes, you aren't really going to make birth control gum?!?

Duh. You explained your idea, I explained why I didn't think it would work. It's called conversing in a forum. Don't worry, I know you wouldn't be capable of actually inventing something!

I actually have invented a few things and applied for patent on a new type of combustion engine, but some guy filed similar application some 3 weeks prior to me for a similar design for use in single stroke engines. My application got reject and naturally I was pissed. Could have made a lot of money off of it too. :(

Now I mostly stick to designing computer programs.
