That is a sweet card. I would say more power. (Enter Tim the Tool Man impersonation here). I know nothing so take this with a grain of salt. It would depend on what else you have sucking the life power out. Seems a little low to me, but I always over compensate for my little general.

I do not have the same brand but my power supply is also 550 watts and it runs a high energy card just fine. It requires two six pin connectors just as yours does. I think that you will have enough power and even if you do not it will burn up and you will have to buy a new one anyway. BTW max power draw for this card is 182 watts so I think it will be fine. Check this one out. The card I own Max draw is 150

Razor wrote:Seems a little low to me, but I always over compensate for my little general. I would tend to agree but its hard to to tell with out the full specs of your system. These are highly variable and are reasonable guesses that I tend to use, but you should look up the actual power usage for your system: Video Card: 182 watts CPU: ~100 watts Hard drive: 25-50 watts *depends on the drive, RPMs, is it a "Green" Drive or regular Optical media: ~25 watts motherboard: 50 watts (highly variable, ITX boards could be 10 watts, full sized ATX boards with all the bells and whistles can be much higher) Ram ~30 watts/stick (a rough guestimate for 1 Gig stick of DDR2 800) Fans etc 10 watts So my very rough guess is that you will use about 460 watts. And when is says that it is a 550 watt power supply that means is draws 550 watts from your outlet, but if you look closely in the specs you will see a line that says this "Efficiency > 72%" which means that on a hot day, after the PSU has worn down a little, you can only expect to get 396 of those 550 watts. What you need to look for is an "80 PLUS Certified" PSU with at least 2 PCI-Express 6-Pin Connectors at about 600 watts to be on the safe side. Of course, all of this is dependent on what actual specs of your system are.

No. Here's why. According to the spec sheet, your power supply only has one 6-Pin PCIx connector. As previously noted, the card requires 2, and I don't recommend trying to make do on one power connector. Which sucks, because the 260 line is baller. I've got the GTX260, a notch or two down from your selection. If I were in your position, I'd definitely spring for a new power supply. The strength gained from the 260 is worth it. Safety + Peace

May want to check out mwave.com - I've been looking into a new vid card as well to replace my ancient 7600, I wound up buying the exact same eVGA card for $150 from mwave. Looks like they don't have it anymore but if you are willing to go with another brand you can hit as low as $144 when you factor in the rebate. Not that you should count on the rebate, those things are designed to be as hard as legally possible to redeem. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

I lost $50 on a rebate because I taped the UPC to the page wrong. Because I made a loop of tape behind the UPC instead taping over it, they were unable to properly process my form.

In theory your video card will come with one. Unless things have changed I believe two PCIe power connectors are uncommon except on the more high-end PSUs. If you don't have two and the card doesn't come with a power adapter: http://www.newegg.com/Pr...r-_-12-887-001-_-ProductRazor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

I have one of those in my girlfriends machine, they are great cards. Although despite the name the 250's aren't actually one of the 200 line of cores, they are really just a die shrunk 9800. I don't know if the extra video memory really gets you much, but if saving the money is worth sacrificing the performance then I'd say go for it. Keep in mind too that future games will probably take an even greater performance hit over an actual 200 series GPU. I installed my 260 last night, I haven't really stress tested it yet but I did run the l4d2 demo and Borderlands with maxed out settings on a 22" LCD and it was totally playable. This is on an Athlon X2 @ ~2.5ghz with 2gigs of RAM and a very slow HDD. Compared to the 7600GT I had before it's a huge step up in performance. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

Thats totally illegal. Unfortunately, no it isn't because when I went and checked the instructions they did specifically say how to tape it and in the fine print it said that ANY deviation from the very explicit instructions would result in the rebate getting rejected. But I was still all like:
