It won't really make a difference, since some classes didn't really get alternate melee weapons (spy, sniper) and since you can't use more than one weapon at a time...just gives more selection. But I predict that the secret weapon isn't all that great and is just some cheap (as in poor trade-off) melee weapon. Nope, Valve won't make it super unbalance. The weapon was designed for the Demoman and Soldier but only one of them will get it. I still believe that the other class will get the item anyways after a couple of months or Valve is making #'s up and it'll become a tie on the day it's released. Not a MUCH greater chance, but it's in soldiers favor cause it's an offensive class and the amount of people that should be playing soldier. Demoman can still carpet sticky, spam pipes, spam "win"bombs, and create a tarp (hidden stickies behind a wall or on the cieling) against soldiers.

Mt thought is there are 2 weapons already made. One is better than the other. Whom ever wins this will get the weaker of the 2. Hense trying to get balance back.

Meh...the fact that it is even close shows how many fail soldiers are out there, even though I love the demo man, demo vs soldier is an obvious win for the soldier if the two are evenly skilled.
