Christwire is one of those sites that's either the actual throbbing center of the universe's stupidity or one of the greatest practical jokes of all time. Because some of the stuff is surprisingly well-written, if with the opinions and perspective of a cabin-crazed religious wingnut.

No, the whole world has not gone nuts. Christianity is not a form of mental illness. You've just found an internet site written by nutjobs with english degrees. which is kind of like any other site of interest, just with a different slant.

It's more than just this website, and whether they cite Leviticus or not I don't think is very relevant. Most Christians have no clue wtf is in the bible, since most of it is non-sense or fucked up it's not difficult to justify every horror on earth with a "sound, biblical basis". Were Jesus real and returned to earth it would be the Christians conducting the crucifixion.
Having grown up around Christians and known many who would write something like this if they were literate, I can not distinguish whether it is satire. It reads like the real thing to me. If it is meant as satire then perhaps Christianity is beyond satire.

And that is the standard response from someone that is ignorant of what being a Christian really is. You obviously have not been truly exposed to one. Are the ones you are talking about Christians? That is not for me to say but the Bible says that you will know them by their fruit. (Matthew 7:16) As far as God being a psychopathic mass murderer I am not sure what you mean by that. One of the characteristics of a psychopath is being incapable of feeling love. As you have studied God enough to label him as such you have obviously seen that He is love. (1 John 1:8)

What do you think the example of Christ is? Most of the world's religions have a favorable opinion of Him? What is it in your vast study of Him that has disagreed with you? Don't say that it is the way the western world is because I will have to disagree that the western world as a whole is really following Christ's example.
