So my dad, in lieu of buying an overpriced and underpowered iPad, got a nifty little optical pen thingy for him to take notes with. He's been wanting to store his notes on a computer for a while, and he liked this gadget. It wasn't very expensive either <$60.

It offers a monthly service to do writing to document text thing, but I'm almost positive there are programs out there where you can just pay for them and move on. I can't find them though, a lot of programs I've found are just for tablet PC's and whatnot.

I'm basically looking for a program that can look at a picture and detect handwriting and convert it to a text document. Anyone have any leads?

$5/Month for premium service. basically unlimited conversion. Been using as a universal notepad for years now. Contains all of my notes for school, related documents, various literature and ideas etc etc etc.

Def worth it.

I remember seeing awhile back some gadget with a kind of scanner that you just wipe the paper with and it reads all the letters. Sorry I can't remember where I saw that though, it was quite a long time ago.
