I was going to say "Boy likes fish!" then I realized.... there are barely any pictures of fish. Apparently he just likes aquariums. =P Cool pics, though. Feels like a trip through the Discovery Channel.

I do have a few fish, but nothing too spectacular, definitley more into the corals as of now. Plus don't have a big tank to really get into the cool fish I'm into.
Thanks for the kind words though

My wife is an active aquarist and would be quite jealous of your tanks. I, on the other hand, can't even keep a damn betta alive. HolyJaw wrote:In the end, everything Endyss said.

To this day I actually don't know why they died. The only thing I can figure is that the pump would periodically die, so maybe the water wasn't being oxygenated enough? I don't even know if that's a problem, but they definitely died.

btw, it that an juvenile Lion fish? looks like one with the spines clipped. If you want the spined version, Endyss and I are going down to Bonaire in a few days. I'm sure they wont mind us taking a few of those nasty fish out of their underwater national park. Those things are killing off all the carribean fish and are fucking everywhere. Quote:

I've actually been semi-trying to aquire a crown of thorns for a long time, would have to figure a food supply., but they're bad ass enough to justify it.
And no, not a juvenile, it's a dwarf lion. They top around 5~6 inches or so, this fellers a small one at maybe 3" or so.
The biggest tank is a 34 gallon, so not a lot of room to get into larger fish, no matter how much I want an achilles tang :(

I would advise against this, as they eat coral, and grow to be about a foot in diameter. I read that a single adult can destroy something like 65 cubic meters of coral a year. I attempt to kill them wherever I go. I got stung this year by a crown of thorns and the venom from the spike is annoyingly long lasting. Took like 2.5 months before the soreness in my finger went away. A 5 foot surge pushed me into one that was feeding on a wall, when I was attempting to pull it off and maim it with my dive knife. Fair enough i guess, as I was attacking it. Quote:

please tell me you're not cutting them up right? Considering all that does is make more of them and all. The venom is something nasty, and part of my interest in them, I used to collect venomous fish, the more lethal the more apealing. I suppose it was the typical teenager attraction to mortality thing.
and yea, know all about them from a research stand-point, but never seen one in reality (have never visited anywhere tropical.) The food procurement would be the biggest challenge, I used to keep some of the sun stars that get about 18" diamater or so when I had my hawaiin dragon moray.
