Any lingering interest in Minecraft? I haven't noticed people playing it like they use to.

Now that it's been released for a while I'm thinking it'd be easier to maintain a server. I might even be able to recover some of the inter-world stuff I had set up before. It'd make setup a bit easier.

For my part, as far as I know mob farming is all but impossible now so I won't even try to build the traps I use to. Instead I'll probably focus on transportation. Sky bridges, tunnels, rail systems, etc. So if any of ya'll wanted to spread out, I can handle connecting things together. And probably come up with a good supply of materials during my mining exploits.

In theory I can use WorldGuard to protect just my shit from creepers, so you guys can blow each others' shit up and pocket the terrain to your hearts' content, but not mine. Probably a pain in the ass to set up, but whatever. Not so bad if I do things in mostly straight lines.

Anyway. Let me know if I should look into getting the server back online.

For shits and giggles I updated everything and, miraculously, it all seems to work the way I left it.

Unfortunately it seems to run even worse than before. No idea why. I can only fathom that recent versions of it are even less optimized than before, or it's because they doubled the ceiling, therefor making the game track more blocks. The latter seems unlikely since it's running hot even when nobody's logged in.

It works well enough for mining and building, but the performance might sting a bit when exploring and fighting. Donno. Haven't really tried. But it's up if anyone wants to dick around with it.

P.S. I dig the rail lighting, Splinter. Neat effect.

Is it still up? I tried to connect, but maybe I'm using the wrong address.

Doh. No. I took it down since nobody responded and I was working on a performance-intensive project on the server and Minecraft was taking up massive resources (even more than it use to =/)

If you're still interested I can look at putting it back up again.

No worries then, I don't think I had anything on there anyway. Resource-intensive activities sound more important than a lonely Super Penguin mining away at some rocks anyway!
