Well, a few days ago I created a shortcut from steam to hl2ctf. I tried using it to launch hl2ctf, it worked, but it claimed that I did not own hl2ctf so that I must log out.
so....
I can't play.. In the meantime, I'll be playing Elder Scrolls III:Morrowind

i don't understand the problem here. hl2ctf is a free download. you can easily download it from the website. if you have the game installed and just don't want to run it from the steam menu (shortcut), you still have to have steam running to play the game. at least thats how i understand it. also when you said that it worked, at what point did it poop out on you and give you that message?

I am currently battling this problem on a second steam account, computer that I own for the kids.. I can log in just fine on my primary account but when I log into the their account I get the same error Gibs gets whenever I try to connect to a ctf server...
Funny thing is I can create a server without a problem but no can do trying to get to other servers. Does not matter dedicated or listen..
Primary account works so I will be around but I cannot bring the two young gun punks living with me into the Tomb as of yet.. Once Known as Grumpy... Oh hell lets face it... I have and will always be Grumpy
