The Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, was killed today while snorkling above the Great Barrier Reef while filming a documentary for his daughter's TV show. He apparantly accidentally boxed in a stingray that responded by stinging him in the chest. His death is considered a freak accident, as stingray barbs rarely cause a fatal reaction.
Now, love him or hate him, this guy was a charasmatic and fanatic about his life's work. Some solace may be found in the fact that he died doing what he loved.
