this argument is stupid like nate said both sides of politics are correct and so is this argument
crass is right for posting his opinion which he has a right to do and kudos for standing up to your teacher for what you believe in if all people did things like this the world would be a better place

i am a libertarian as i am currently under age i cant but when i am of age to vote i will not

I don't like our president and I'm not particularly dedicated to any political party. but I do admire you standing up for yourself which is more than most people around here can do. Imposing personal beliefs on a class of people that are still in the developemental stages of adulthood is a downright abuse of power to further his own agenda. To hell with him. Why'd you even speak up? From my understanding taken from my experience in high school is that you don't have free speech in school, so keep your ideas to yourself till you're out of class.
Also from my understanding, why does it seem every history teacher is a stupid liberal dope trying to push their agenda on their students? Right when he said that you shouldn't support the troops you should have yelled out: "TERRORISTS WIN"

sounds like you go to the high school i went to... I was in a gov class when a sub teacher started talking about the war over oil and how oil companies are screwing us and backing it up with solid facts. he was completely stating his opinion, not trying to impose anything, but more so to get an emotion out of somebody in our dead silent careless senior classroom. one kid stood up and argued back and forth and it was one of the best learning experiences i had about the war. Honestly, reading newspapers, watching the news, or just absorbing what our teachers tell us never helped me one bit. It's people like you that actually question the validity of something and get f*cked over for voicing an opinion. I'm not saying I agree with you, personally I took the teachers side in the fight in my class, but Its f*cking retarted that you got kicked out for that. I hope you fight this, and I hope you win. This isn't even about bush or the war, you just had rights taken away from you. go kick some closed-minded teachers ass, crass.

Politics aside. What I don't like is the fact that many teachers believe they can state their views on a "hot" topic and expect everyone in class to take it as fact. When a student challenges them, most often they are punished usually grade wise or in your case suspension. Now, depending on how you responded, ie, personal attacks, out of control behavior, or just stating what you believe to be the facts will probably determine the outcome of your meeting with the board.
If you are going to challenge a teacher, be prepared for the consequences. It it probably the most UN-democratic situation you will probably be in. The best way to stop such activity is to record your teacher, make sure it's legal first. (I've heard that Sean Hannity has really stuck it to some teachers for doing just this).
Teaching should be just that, teaching, not a one way discussion on your personal views on a subject, but a discussion *on as many views as possible.

We all have our own opinion of everything in life. I am proud you felt the urge to express your opinion about the subject. I would encourage that if anyone has a differing opinion that they express it in a thoughtful debate.
I do not agree with personal attacks on anyone for any reason during any such debate. Deal with your personal dislikes toward each other or work it out with them. Don't bring it out into public and get others to try and side with your opinion.

These teachers aren't brainwashing kids. Shit they are in the 10th grade. I remember the 10th grade I knew that If I didnt want to accept what teachers opinions I didnt have to. I knew that If i didn't want to stand for the pledge because I didn't agree what it stood for that I didnt have to. They are giving thier educated opinion. If anyone thinks they are wrong they are probably not looking at it with an open mind. I for one think Adolf Hitler was an admirable man. There are goig to be people out there right off that statement who think that im some kind of nazi. But it doesnt much more than that to see why he was admirable. I don't think he was admirable for what he did to the jews and the world but the fact that one person can convince an entire country to fight the world and commit genocide is pretty impressive in my opinion. That does not make him a good person before someone tries to jump down my throat about that. We could have an argument about Hitler, the war, god for 4 weeks it isnt going to make either of the people right. Anyways. Just because this teacher doesnt support the troops isnt a reason to make him the bad guy. He isnt forcing anyone to follow his ways he probably just expressed why he thinks that there shouldnt be a war. This isnt a bad thing. He is doing exactly what makes America unique, Freedom of Speech. The whole point is that it doesn't matter if you think the person is right or not. You should probably think about his side and why they think that. Not just point fingers and say YOUR WRONG AND IM RIGHT. That is why I think you are an idiot. And bloodhands. This is the nyquil bar.
