I have an LCD monitor thats seems to have died on me, I turn it on while booting my PC up, the startup screen shows for a split second then the screen goes blank. The signal still going cause when I turn it off and turn it back on I see the screen again for a split second. At the moment I have no choice but to go back to my old screen at which I cant play games cause its placed in an bad spot and my head is turned to the right and is very uncomfortable. I dont know if my main screen could be fixed or not. Anyone got any pointers as like what the problem could be or how to fix it? ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

The screen was a free gift for buying a laptop (which my friend got and gave the screen to me). ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Sounds like a faulty monitor connection. Don't act a fool. Get a new cable. If that fails get a new monitor.

it makes a better sound too I am not an alcoholic... I am a drunk.... Alcoholics go to meetings. Grumpy wrote:WDF? wrote:Our ... is going up today, actually..... so... yeah... I'll section it. Well worse came to worse... still have the LCD and it does still seem to work from time to time or when ever it feels like it. For the moment its sitting where my first PC monitor was, had to store the oldest monitor away, now I have a brand spanking upgrade shiny new monitor, HP 21" freaking wide ass screen. This monster is definately gonna take some time getting used to.
Thx for the help anyway ^_^ someone can close this if they wish. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

If you can fix it, I'll take it and tinker around with it. I read ALL your private messages.

If it still has life left in it ill probly hook it up and use it for a 2nd screen, though I never really used the 2 screens much when I had the older screen hooked up at all. Now that I have this wide screen I dont really need to span both monitors. I could probly use the 2nd one to stick to the forums and my main screen to stick ingame. :P
Okay so a new problem has arrived, been playing with my video settings on CS:S and found out that for some reason my video has the ability to go 1600x1200 but as soon as I picked that my video went completely blank. So now I need help if someone wouldn't mind posting a SS of the CS:S Video Menu cause I have to try to change my video settings being blind as a bat <.< ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

try uninstalling cs / css, and then re-installing, it will reset options. Quote:Posting related image due to my inability to formulate an intelligent response. BlooDz wrote:i cant type good im stupid

I tried 2 times, 2 differant ways. Neither of them worked. Thats why I need a SS of the video menu for guidance, you can move in the menu with your arrow keys so thats gonna help me. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Is your monitor the widescreen version? If so, your monitor probably can't support 1600x1200. If it isn't widescreen and it supports 1600x1200, im assuming that its trying to put a refresh rate that is too high for your monitor to handle at 1600x1200.
