Okay. so travelling home yesterday, i brought my computer along for the ride so i wouldnt' be completely out of practice by sunday. I even had my parents go out and buy me WoW cuz im such a nerd...
Anyways... i get home, set up my desktop, turn the thing on... and ...
NOTHING! -The power would turn on and all the fans would go but nothing else... no bios beeps, no bios flash screen, nothing. so i thought it may be the GPU, its not. Tried changing the bios battery, changed hard drives.... all the same. except somehwrere along the line the Bios started to do 3 LONG beeps ( i think it happened after tinkering with the drives but before i replaced the bios battery). I looked up the problem and on my dads e-machine POS and found that the beeps mean i am having KEYBOARD (WTF?!) issues. either the keyboard is bad, or the keyboard card is bad. i swapped the keyboard and it didnt work.
so now i don't know what else to do to diagonse the problem.
I have a year old sony vaio desktop with an intel motherboard. pentium D... if you need more specs, look up my gaming rig on my xfire profile (gnarfackingnar). anywhos... please help me..

yet more problems....
so i looked at my motherboard and its an Intel Desktop Board model numbers listed.... D945PPR, D945GPR. i searched for support for these on the Intel site and they say that these models don't exist!!!!!
but i got new beep code info... apparently i am having a Base 64K problem.... i either need to reseat all my memory, get a new PSU or new motherboard....
does anyone know any methods for me to determine whether its my PSU or mainboard? i had an inkling it may be the PSU in that my fan speeds don't seem to be spinning at the normal sounding speed (as i don't really see them). someone must know something... please help!!!

Since this computer was bouncing around in the back of your car make sure all the connections are well seated . (the ones from your psu to mobo and so on) If you want you can pull them off and reseat them .

almost always situations like this are caused by something getting knocked loose. I would pull every component apart and put it all back together. if you dont have time for that, pull your CPU and RAM out, then plug them back in as a first step. if that doesn't do it, do your PCI cards (+vid card). if that doesnt do it, take the whole damn thing apart and put it back together. if that doesnt do it, find some known-good RAM. if that doesnt do it, find a known-good PSU. one other thing, when you take it apart examine every single item for dmg. sometimes a screw or something is loose and gets knocked around and breaks shit. thanks for everyones help but....
last nigth i went and waited in line for 2 hours at compusa just so i could buy shit no one should be waiting in line to buy. But i did and i got a new motherboard, case, and PSU. After spending another 2 hours putting it all together, i had one last problem of finding a new cpu fan/sink cuz the one from my other one was too big and was nudging capaciters close to the cpu. so i went and got that today, came home, put it in and turned on the juice! ZMOG!!!! SUCCESS?!?!!
pft.... not hardly....
when i start my computer, the windows xp screen flashes for like 2 seconds then the comp restarts. it doesnt even finish the fade in and its back to the start.... and when i try to go into safe mode, is gets to the btkrnl.sys loaded and then asks me to press esc if i want to stop the loading of daebus.sys then no matter what i do, hit esc or wait, it goes back to the start.
SO, luckily (HA yea right) i had a IDE based hard drive that had a version of the windoes vista test build so i gave that thing a whirl and i FUCKING SAW A DESKTOP!!! YAY i say to myself... Now i can get my ass back into the crypt or maybe even embark on my new WoW adventure... but no.... the thing decides to remember that i only had a temp beta tester liscense so it gets all up in my grill saying "BUY LISCENSE! ENTER LISCENSE! YOU"RE A DEADBEAT!" and it wont let me into vista.... SO i am now downloading a new version of Windows because fucked if i can find my old disc, and it prolly wouldnt work as its an OEM and they dont like new mobos.
Does anyone know what the shit is going on with my windows XP? i got a msg somehwere along the line about my ACPI settings or drivers are out of date or something but the motherboard is brand spanking new! whats ACPI anyways? could this be a problem and is there a fix without using windows? am i going to have to reinstall? does anyone have any extra vista liscense keys laying around?
Thanks to everyone for your help!

Google ACPI it might give you the answer you need. Sounds like you need a clean install of XP or vista

Right now, it sounds like your Windows is borked. You can't swap crucial hardware like a mobo and expect it to boot to windows perfectly fine unless it was under the same chipset.

Buzzsaw is right when you install windows on 1 mb and cpu and then get a new setup, windows reads that has Different computer and and wont boot up right. I had the problem 1 time and i called up windows and theey said that swicthing mb out on it, is concided a new computer and they want you to buy another copy of it. Just reinstall win xp and you will be fine. WDF?: I found a hot girl WDF?: Who lets me WDF?: Drink WDF?: Smoke WDF?: And play video games WDF?: ALL DAY shignog: and in the back door?
