So I’m at a conference for work. Well, here’s the letter I intend to send.
Dear Sirs:
I've stayed at your resort for at least the last four or five years attending business conferences. This year my experience was quite different.
After driving non-stop for five and a half hours to make a 6:30 p.m. dinner yesterday, we checked into the hotel with just enough time to change clothes and walk down to dinner. When we got to our room, we found someone else’s clothing and toiletries. The front desk explained that the occupant’s belongings would be moved out and into a room two doors down since he requested a room change. We were told that this room would be our room and that housekeeping would come to clear out the occupant’s belongings.
Not willing to wait until housekeeping cleaned the room, we asked and were transferred to another room some distance away. At that point, after the drive and the room error, I decided to skip the dinner as I am not very good company when I am in a foul mood.
I ordered dinner and a drink. I received my dinner, but had to wait ten to fifteen minutes for my beverage due to some error.
When I tried to connect to the internet, I discovered the room was missing an ethernet cable. Also we had not received our new keys hours after our transfer, I called and had both delivered.
I then experienced a problem with the internet connection and after speaking to the IP’s customer service department, they determined the connection was bad. I called again to have someone fix the cable connection. When the repairman showed up, he explained that he had been told it was the telephone line so he would need to get his tools to work on the DSL cable instead. He apologized for the wait and fixed the problem.
This morning I awoke to a spider staring at me from atop the comforter, walking toward my face. I hate spiders. I killed two the day before. I called the front desk and they dispatched the same man who had fixed the DSL. He apologized and sprayed the bedroom.
I noticed upon our arrival at the front gate yesterday that the guard shack personnel yelled out our names and car make into a radio, louder than needed, to alert "security" listening on the other end. It seems to me that a resort which announces its guests with a flourish should not have these many things go wrong within a twelve-hour period.
I think your repairman should be commended for his attention to detail and for apologizing where others did not. As for the rest of your operation, I don’t know what happened. It’s as if you folks stopped caring.
Good luck with that.
You should be more like Cantrip.
Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ."

Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. "
WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore."
