My parents desktop isn't working right, I'll log on, and it'll freeze up within a minute. When we log on it displays an error message that says:
RUNDLL Error loading /3/DLCQtime.dll The specified module could not be found.
I don't know if it's because something in the computer is broked, or viruses, but we do have a virus scanner, and I don't go on any unusual sites. However, my friend did go on this one movie sites that lets you watch full length movies for free, some just out, some not even out yet. As soon as he went on i told him to get off because I don't trust that site, and he did. So i don't know of that effed up my comp and gave me viruses, or it's the computer itself. PLEASE HELP!!lol jp jp!â„¢

Probally not the website, if u can press F8 at system startup, just before windows starts to load, try "Last Knwon Good Configuration, if that doesnt work Try safe mode, if that doesnt work try system restore if u can when u log on, just before the error comes up if u can, if that doesnt work try putting your XP Install CD in your drive, boot from the CD and click ASR automated system rapair, if that doesnt work then try booting from the CD again, and then click install fresh windows or something then repair it again. if that doesnt work reformat, if that doesnt work get a new computer, if that doesnt work give-up and go outside and get some fresh air.
Two "maybe" locations of the file, if they help:
HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run",dlcqCATS,"""%52%\3\dlcqtime.dll RunDLLEntry"""
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\dlcqtime.dll
Looks like a virus to me...
Edit: Try "Windows Defender Anti-Virus", if you do not have genuine windows to download it, use a third party site. I know where to dl a registery file which will bypass the installation validation check, it always works, and it works for IE7 and WMP 11

I thought it was a virus at first, but then I searched RUNDLL on google, and it had a link for this site, so I checked it out.
http://fix-pc-errors.com/rundll.htm and it seems as though, something is wrong with my computer parts. But I could be wrong cause I have no idea about computers as we learned that on the last forums when rebel helped me out.
Anyways, I started it in safe mode and am running a virus scan, I hope it's not a virus.lol jp jp!â„¢

My virus scan came up negative, but the mcafee wasn't running properly. The M on the bottom right of my computer is red when it works, but it's black when it's not on. When I started it in safe mode, it wouldn't change from black. So do you think that virus scan did nothing since it wasn't working properly?lol jp jp!â„¢

I expect the virus scan didnt work.
So now when u log on in safe mode the error doesnt come up anymore right?
Also when u say that the site said that there was something wrong with your computewr parts, what is that exactally, if it said. Quote:Posting related image due to my inability to formulate an intelligent response. BlooDz wrote:i cant type good im stupid

Sounds like a quicktime driver is fucked. Start Windows in safe mode and completely uninstall quicktime. silverwasp wrote:Be careful what you wish for... I have 10 younger siblings and I am only 20....

It's a "timer dll"....as described here:
http://driveragent.com/archive/11056/preview?q=dlcqtime.dll
Not sure exactly what it does, but...check your system with a couple online scanners, and ensure you enable the ability for it to view system and hidden files....so it can scan everything....

Well, it's weird, we loaded up the computer from the last known good configuration, and we put in the date jan 1 when it was still cool. Now, it works good, but my fooking other computer is now dead. Man, if it's not one, it's the other.lol jp jp!â„¢

Oh man, that's unfortunate Turbo.
I'm sure we all had our fair share in these casualties we face with out computers...
one after another (or one or the other)...that's how it is sometimes with my setup too.
Good Luck! Best Advice I can manage to storm up! {pDs} *LoneOfficier*"...crossbow+lone....unseparable....!"-LoneOfficier
