Before I go on, this is going to be a rant on my side (maybe some hl2ctf regulars will agree with it). Do not respond in flames please.
As I look right now, TOMB has 0/16 people, while Fight Club has 12/18. How come? We have more maps, we have same (if not better) settings and configurations. Answer is, clan support. If you check out at anytime, fc guys (primarily Chigger) are always there, supporting their server. They only have like 10 members (12 at most), how many do we have? Somewhere around 15~20 active per day? Yesterday, server has hit its peak multiple times, because Snooch, Elf, J-town and myself were there. Then more joined in (Whut, fear, TP later on). Yes, I understand, there is also Crypt & Trench foot servers, Tomb isn't the only one. I also know that there are "anti-hl2ctf" people (not pointing fingers here). I noticed that major problem resides in getting HL2 (single player), but that is only $20 right now, I know few sucked it up and got it, however others will make quite lame excuses (such as comparing HL2 to Xbox 360, lol).
Did I mention we have instagib? I am sure most of you are fairly familiar w/ that term, if not I'll define it for you. It is a one-hit kill game mode, where you are given 1 weapon (and gravity gun) and it is great aim practice with that particular weapon. There is instagib for: Magnum, Crossbow, Sniper Rifle and RPG (coming soon). It is played on only some maps though and happens 1 of 3 times on that map. Here is an example, ctf_dirtwork is assigned Magnum instagib, that means, once every 3 times it is played, it will be instagib. I may add a feature to server soon, that admins can easily enable the instagib on the fly, but that is a huge maybe (read below why).
When you play on Tomb, I think it is safe to say that you are supporting your clan's server and work (those who have donated & helped set it up). The least you could do is stop by on it once a day and help it (Tomb) gain some players. Elf, Snooch, J-town and myself can't do all of the work. I for one have 4 classes this Semester, I can't play for hours straight anymore. I am also getting slowed down on EventScripting (sorry whut for delaying your bot script). This is our clan's server, not mine, so I am asking this clan to come and support your server!
Right now there is a HL2CTF league going on, I am not going to go into much detail, but I will say this. The more HL2CTF players we have, the larger our roster can be (and more can participate). That is another reason to get HL2 (if you don't have it) and come to HL2CTF, to make our team stronger. It is not as bad as you (haters) think it is. I for one, don't mind HL2DM, I stop by on Crypt when I can, but most of my attention goes to Tomb. I personally (my opinion) like HL2CTF a lot more than HL2DM, because it is more suited for team play (although some may disagree). (It is also REAL ctf, not ball carrying game lol).
I'm done. So why am I posting this? What's the point? Simple. Please support Tomb! Like I said we have around 15~20 actives (out of like 50?), even if we are to split up those 15~20 actives into 3 servers our clan has, we will still have 3~6 people per server at least. That is more than enough to get a game going in my opinion.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, if you guys have any suggestion for our server Tomb, let one of us know. We will do our best to work something out so it suits everyone's needs. You have our xfire, that is the best way to contact us.

Nite is complete right and not alone in this situation. For the past three days since the Tomb has come back online, Nite, J-town, and I have spent countless hours working to keep players in the game and attract people away from the Fight Club. However, we do not have unlimited time, and we are all students with classes to attend and hw to do. It is entirely understandable that many of you have other things to do, of course, but with one of the largest active rosters of any clan in these three mods, I believe that we should be able to split our time among the Trench Foot, Tomb, and Crypt. I implore any DM players who do not own HL2 to spend the little extra money to buy it and participate in the mod where we have shown the most improvement, in CTF where we have risen from last place in the last season tournament to at least 6/10 teams this season so far.
HL2 is only 20 dollars, and it seems that the people who are unwilling to buy HL2 are also the ones who are unwilling/unable to support our clan's newly revived servers as well. Many of us have donated to bring back the Tomb, but we alone cannot support the server. So please, join us in CTF, with a fast pace and where you play for fun, not for stats. What other reason do you have for not playing CTF? CTF is where development is still ongoing, not like DM where Valve has essentially stopped any improvements to the mod. Also, almost all of the maps on the Crypt are available on the Tomb as well, for such members as Llenta, Snooch, and others not in this clan have ported favorites such as 2fort, school, pond, and others for CTF. Did I mention the flag carrier can actually use weapons, instead of being a helpless pansy? What are you still waiting for?

This is my response to this thread. I do agree that we need to support our servers.
Just because I do not want to buy hl2 or ctf does not mean I do not support our servers. I was one of the people that said that I would rather buy xbox 360 over Hl2 ctf. One of the reasons for this ,as the people that I talk to already know this, that my computer is not the best so I am cutting down on getting new games until I get a new one. That may sound dumb but another reason is the fact that I just got invited to apply for the History Honor Society at my college which is one of 3 majors I have. You said nite that you only have 4 classes this semester. Well I have five and I am teaching in a high school. So I am very busy. I often play on the crypt so I do support our servers. I am sorry that I am not able to donate yet but I am poor college student that still needs to upgrade his computer from 2002.
Anyway Most of the recruits we are getting are for ctf. So the pDs fan base is growing there so you guys are doing well. I just would like to defend myself in this area because I have received some criticism from certain members about not having it.
EDIT: I am not mad at any of you guys. I just wanted to clear up why I have not downloaded ctf.

First, Nite... the bot script was like a stupid request for "whenever" not a "OMFG GIMMIE NOW!" Take your time.
Second, I am inclined to spend my time in the Crypt as that's my baby. It's where I go to enjoy the fruits of my labor. However, I have been known to fire up ctf once in a while.
Just so people know... this whole idle in the servers thing is just until we get back up to speed... get some regulars of our own again. We were down a long time and need to rebuild that momentum.
With that said, I read somewhere of a way to get hl2ctf to work without hl2... just dm... not sure if it worked or if it was valid, but I thought there was a fix.

I'm happy the Tomb and Crypt came back online.
i have been playing on the Tomb here and there, but just under different names. I have seen a lot of pDs players as well as others on the Tomb which is great.
The Crypt is another story. That server seems to be dead, and the only way i was able to connect to it was by typing the ip directly into the console. This probably explains why it was empty (minus the bots), but i'm sure it had something to do with the lovely update that steam just gave us.
i am probably one of the few active players that haven't donated $$$ for the servers. this is because i just sent in my last tuition payment and i am running on scraps to make rent, cable, pg&e...well you get the picture. i figure my donation to this clan and community will be maps until i get a job after i graduate. then i will have some extra cash to put towards a new computer and these wonderful servers.

a player can actually play CTF without HL2, they just can join any servers. it's like a built in "we're trying to piss as many people off as possible" steam feature. once upon a time you used be able to join via xfire, but that was broken with a steam update 6 mnths ago. yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

Whut, we all know full well that the crypt is your baby :) You're funding for all of crypt our of your own pocket, essentially.
The point of this post was not that people should stop supporting the crypt, it's that both these servers along with trench foot should be supported by all of pds, at least 2/3 per member. I play CTF and occasionally DM, along with most of our CTF members. But many of our DM members stick strictly to DM, which is a bit disheartening. It would open their eyes to a faster paced game, less bugs, better movement, and overall better form of team gameplay, and isn't that what a clan is about? Teamwork?

ill play as much as i can..but in all honesty...when i play CTF, i get mauled all the time. yea with time ill get better, but nothing is too fun when you get killed all the time..even the crypt...if you know what i mean

Hopefully we can get a Tomb advert in there for us. The servers ain't gonna be full all the time (cept maybe the Crypt), We just re-opened I think we should give it a little more time.
