So I'm playing tomb today and I start to get frusterated. First off, I think it would be a good idea if the tomb was back to just ctf and football maps since the crypt has reopened. With the modded crowbar/stunstick any dm map turns into a boring ass melee fest. Second off, I know people play here cause of the awesome 1 shot kill Xbow bolt spam fest-o-rama, but after a while it just starts to get irritating coming right out of a spawn with 100/100 and getting mowed down by some lucky spam shot. If we turned the damage down to 190 it would still kill a player with a small amount of damage in one shot, but not somebody with full health. Also, turning down the xbow a tad would promote more weapon usage, and better firefights. Like I said in the title these are just suggestions, but I'd like to hear everybodies input on this. One shot = one kill = good way to unwind after a long day. Of course I wouldn't know lately because Steam took a dump in my computer five days ago and I haven't been able to play since and Steam won't respond to my requests and they have disabled my "ask a question" tab and I have tried your suggestions including uninstalling and reinstalling four times. shit even if it was 199 it would give most a fighting chance to get the campers. Although, I get a good laugh when I'm playing nfs_football and there's 5 desperate xbowers clicking and clicking trying to get me as I get goal after goal. I disagree as well... I like the one shot kill with xbow.... it's one of the hardest weapons to aim and one of the slowest as well. I like that it's a one shot kill.
We just have to work on the campers, not the settings.
in the football map there is more than 1 exit. If they are camping 1 then use another exit or shoot them first.

i have to disagree as well. if i want 199 damage of the x-bow, i play on the hax servers. the reason i play on the tomb is because of the 200 damage x-bow. i know a lot of other people play on the tomb as well because of the x-bow mod. i say if you are tired of the x-bow mod and need a break, play hax for a bit, nobody will hate you for it (i do sometimes). also i have been using the combine rifle and shotgun more now in close range attacks. i think the combine rifle is more powerfull it seems.

LOLZ, if I want variety and change I'm not gonna play HAX servers. And xbow really isn't that hard when you've got half of a team just spamming bolts. It all boils down to who gets the lucky shot. I got to agree. There's no better feeling than getting into a kiling spree and mowing down people with the bow. It's a fun and simple way to kill and it takes a good deal of skill to master it. Bow=killing satisfaction.

I think the 190 damage is a good idea, but I'm used to the 200 damage. Either way doesn't bother me at all. What do you guys think about having RPGs that don't have laser guiding? I thought it was a stupid idea altogether for valve to put an anti-air/armour weapon in a deathmatch game where players do not commandeer vehicles. I think it would be a good idea and would drop the rate of the RPG spamming especially in those CTF maps like powerplant and warpath. This is just an idea.

Ill agree with Don again, there is absolutly no variation in weapons. EVERYONE uses xbows... might as well make the game Xbow only. Hell if the lowered xbow damage were in effect I am 100% postive you wont hear people bitching about Orbs and Smg Nades. And I know none of you out there could say that you dont need work on your other weapon skills. Just my opinions anyhow. Also, regarding to vince. There is no way to get rid of camping. Camping is a part of the game plain and simple. As long as people have a weapon that is one shot one kill there will people camping with it. Before the change 2fort was full of Mags and made it near impossible to cross the bridge. Personaly i like the way it is set right now because thats one of the reaons why i played Tomb soo much is because of how the weapons are set up. and the xbow is hard to aim with expecialy at long distances because of the slowness of the bolt so it takes skill to master that thing with only a little luck.from what i have seen while playing is that i hardly ever kill people out of luck with that gun and i hardley ever get killed out of luck. i think it is just how good you are with it that makes it the way it is. but we should keep the settings the sameMakeSureItsCharcoalGrilled wrote: "Craps Alert"

I think my whole xbow point has been missed. If damage was lowered to 190 it would still be 1 shot 1 kill for anybody with 100 health 90 suit. My frustrations stem from running right out of a spawn and having some lucky shot take me out before I get a chance to see where anybody is. shark TerribleNate wrote:Fuck nice... in my opinion its all part of the game. even if you lowered the damage to 190 (which i hope doesn't happen), you will be left with 10hp. no way in the world you could fight and kill anybody with 10hp. so it makes no difference in my point of view.
