Make the server east coast. I know, I am not the only player, but the whole community is made up of the world pretty much. We are close knit. Euro plays with U.S. and so forth. I get 100 ping in the server, and the server runner, (Nite), gets worse.
Now, while I'll typing this, you will probably think I'm am bitching. I am really not. I have my reasons why I am making these suggestions. I am guessing euro gets 150+ Ping on the tomb since its west coast. Compared to the fight club which most of them get 100 ping.
I know you have already voted, but I would like to put in my suggestions for turning off FF. While playing 2fort tonight, I was shot with the sniper rifle. By my team mate. Then had to make the trek up the tunnel to being spammed with lots smg nades. It is not that i cannot distinguish my team mates, it is that i reflex and shoot them. =/
I am just looking at making your server better, because I think if you guys got more clan members to play on it. It would be more popular than fight club. But if i wanted 100+ ping. I could go play on a euro server.
Don't take this as a insult. Please.

I'd love to help... but I'm west coast. Most of my core original founding clan members are west coast. Unless I move east, we won't be moving the server. I hope you can still enjoy the server.

Well, we have taken many of these items into consideration. FF, for example, tends to reduce spam, but the problem lies with the layout of some maps. Inherently, maps with tight corridors such as 2fort tend to have increased TKs, while open maps such as dirtwork tend to have fewer. As to server location, I think WDF? has covered that well enough. With regards to clan members appearing on the Tomb, well, that's what the advertisement thread in the CTF forums already covered, so that's just a lack of participation on your clan. Its cool. I wasn't coming here to cry. I was just suggesting stuff. No offense to you WDF, but I haven't seen you on the tomb yet. Why keep the server west because of you if you don't play?
Sorry elf, but aXon is currently involved in CAL league 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, ILDM 3v3, CTF 6v6, and ECW 3v3. We have 9 members which two of are inactive. I got 4 of them to download HL2CTF, and they just don't like it all that much. We currently have 4 servers and I am trying to get Punk to move a server to HL2CTF.
It also doesn't help that when you are trying to get your dm clan leader to move a server of his to CTF, that the person that is trying to convince him won't be wearing the tag in CTF. (Talking about me in this paragraph.)
Spam doesn't really matter when I would come around a corner and hit my team mate with a xbow bolt.
The post was not meant to offend anyone, you may just lock it now if it is that big of a problem

Because I have an agreement with our current host who doesn't operate on the east coast. I'm not going to pay more money for something that I definitely won't use. At least when it's over here there's a chance I'll show up to practice.

I dont care for your server being on the west coast either. LA is it? You would still get good pings if the server was in Dallas and since Dallas has excellent routing, most other players would benefit from this as well. Something to look into if you ever decide to change locations.

lol you explained it fine. I was just giving you other options to benefit the tomb more when it comes to keeping the server full. Im well aware your not moving the server. But if something ever came up and you could move it, Dallas would be a good option.

Just thought that it was funny today that when you were in the tomb while I was. You said "I hate this game, why do I play it?"
Or something along those lines, yet probably only 4 people from pDs go to that server consistently. Why won't you change it for them?..and for the rest of the hl2ctf community. It doesn't have to be east coast, just something more closer to the middle, maybe central if you will?
And another quick question: What core original founding clan members consistenly play CTF? (no harm intended, see warning or discloser at bottom)
I am not sure who your server host is, but if they had something central, I would suggest that. :)
Again no offense was intended with this post, just suggestions and not critizisms.

I see that Sacrifist was mistaken when he agreed that I explained this fine. I'm going to dumb this down as much as possible for you. I get good deal over here. I am over here. Our colo machine and web server is over here. 100% pDs founding members are west coast. I pay for the fucking things (bless those who donate) I don't live on the east coast. I don't rent from the east coast or central usa. We're all established on the west coast. You're not in pDs. My members location, unfortunately, trumps your third party location. We've been hosting west coast servers for six years now. CTF is almost dead anyway, 1.8 was supposed to come out forever-ago... and yeah. Just because you think I should move my server to where it's more comfortable for you doesn't mean I am going to move my sever to where it's more comfortable for you. You've made some three posts now trying to explain to me that, while you don't mean any disrespect, you feel I'm doing this wrong. So yes. I don't play ctf. However, I've run this community for six years and counting. The bottom line is not that my server is west coast oriented, it's that the community is dead. The end. The game is dead, the community is dead. It has nothing to do with my lack of knowledge in running a server properly. Even the DM community is dying. TF2 will breath new life into this community I assume, but these games are pretty much dead or dying. The only reason we run the ctf server in the first place is because select community members demanded it. They enjoy it because there are really no good "leagues" for DM. The majority of pDs do NOT play ctf. The majority of pDs sit online and bitch about things that I try and fix, and then bitch about the fixes. So, while I appreciate that you are so passionate about me moving this server to dallas, it will never happen. I'd rather close it than move it to a different host in a far away place. Thanks for enjoying the servers!
