new marilyn manson album comes out  soon. the preview for the first single features Marilyn making out with his new 19 year old girlfriend: I hope I'm even half the badass he is at 40 or however old he is now. You can of course get the full song and one other that leaked via the usual sources.

that's funny because that is exactly what I thought when I heard it. I'm not sure why he released the short video as a promo since the audio is kind of crap and the video itself is very odd. I suppose it's for the rabid fanbase and not really an advertisement.
the song itself is actually pretty good, the first time I heard it I didn't think it was very good but after a few more listens it really grew on me a lot. the story behind it is funny too, it was inspired by his new girlfriend wearing heart-shaped glasses like the ones in the poster for the movie Lolita to mock the age difference between them.

I can't respect a grown man who wears make-up and remixes old Depeche Mode songs. His fanbase is made up of 13 year old kids who wear shirts like this one:

I've been a long time fan of Manson's work (musically). I was even more excited when Tim Skold of KMFDM joined him to play Bass.....

I thought his last album was good stuff (mainly because you could hear the Skold influence).....

I have listened to this song a couple times over and can safely say I hate it.

Lame. What do you think of the other released song? The entire album is all Manson + Skold. I'm still hoping for another Manson + Trent album, they should do a mutual farewell double-album when they decide to retire, bring back some of their great former band members for some of the songs like Twiggy and Vrenna. Go out with a massive bang.

Re: Manson's fan base. It's not 13 year olds, I'm like 28 or something and I love Manson. And he only covered 1 depeche mode song so STFU.

The other song sounded kinda emo to me... I wasn't interested.

I'm really not digging it.

And really, charcoal, I'm crushed.

don't worry there might be hope for you yet. i've come up with a musical education curriculum specially for you. yes i can see it now... a little bit of the Romantics for melody, a touch of Mali for rhythm, a dash of Delta for story telling, a bit of fusion for inventiveness, a bit of minimalist, ethiopean jazz maybe too, hmmm... yes there might still be time... dont worry whut i can still fix you.
