i had a consult with a professor who studies and teaches on the neurobiology of addicted drugs here at the university.  she said that the huge problem with salvia is that each plant contains a different amount of the "drug" that gives you your trip.  so when you (or whoever) cuts it, you have no idea how much you are actually cutting it.  this is why all of your trips are going to be different.  among the other problems that it will cause you.

unless your drug dealer is also a chemist who has the equipment to measure the potency, i still don't see how that is gong to make a difference.  the extract is still probably cut because there is so much other fillers in there when you extract the drug out of the plant. 

this drug like others will destroy specific pathways in your brain.  i would state them but they would be way over your head i'm sure.  I spent my college years studying the affects of drugs on the human body instead of taking them.  Because of that, i'm much more educated then just about any user out there.

If you want to continue using drugs i'm not going to stop you, i personally don't care.  i'm too well educated to use them myself after knowing how they will affect me.  besides, i would rather throw my money away doing more productive things with my life. 

Just because this drug is still legal doesn't make it a safe one.  It simply means that its not a very popular one (all things considered) and not well studied.  Back in the 70's everybody was using cocaine and thought it was the "safe" drug.  Well it wasn't long before everybody realized that it was anything but.  Today, there are a lot of people taking MDMA (ecstasy) thinking that it is a "safe" drug because isn't not really addicting and has almost no withdrawal symptoms.  A lot of new studies have published results also showing that it destroys its own pathways in the brain and it stays that way for 7-10 years.  The damage is probably permanent, but the studies have only been going on for a decade, so we only know that much information.
