its been in talks since around 2002. i think they might have finally got the movie rolling again.

The Weinstein Company Gets Serious About a Knight Rider Film
Now that Revolution Studios is out of the picture, The Weinstein Company is hot to make a Knight Rider movie based on the classic 1980s TV series.

For those too young to have first-hand knowledge of Knight Rider, the series starred David Hasselhoff (pre-Baywatch) and a talking car named K.I.T.T. (voiced by William Daniels). Together the two fought crime with the help of a mysterious benefactor.

Glen A Larson created the TV series and is adapting the show for the big screen. Larson will also serve as executive producer. There have been talks of a Knight Rider film over the years but Larson thought they were all too comedic in tone. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Weinstein Company and Larson have agreed on a darker, edgier version of the series.

There's no word yet on whether Hasselhoff will appear in the Knight Rider movie.

Just did a quick research and the movie might be a hoax. according to the teaser poster the car is this

Turns out that the 2008 model for Trans-AM is this

Now for those that are lost and saying wtf is this relevant to? Well the original 80's Knight Rider show has spacifically used the Trans-AM for "K.I.T.T."

That thing is hideous. I'm not too fond of the whole modern-muscle look that's becoming popular.

If the Hoff isn't involved, this movie will be terrible.

This *has* to be a hoax.......the car in the "poster" is a Koenigsegg....

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=koenigsegg&btnG=Search

...and the exact (non-photoshopped) photo is located on a car blog site:
