I have some bad news to let everyone in on. My niece was killed yesterday in a car crash on her way home from a church retreat. She was in a van with about 7-9 others when a f-250 was speeding towards them on a small two lane highway with a boat/trailer. SURPRISE SURPRISE! the asshole wasn't paying attention, veered into their lane, swerved back and sideswiped the van with the boat trailer. the trailer also crushed a corolla behind the van in half killing a passanger in that vehicle. Four people in the van died. My neice, her boyfriend, her lifelong bestfriend, and their youth group leader. They were trapped inside the van when it caught fire. They're bodies still haven't been identified. Hailey was 15, going into the 12th grade. She was a very bright, funny, and caring young lady. She was an amazing soccer player (being the youngest player to be on varsity in her school's history). She was a straight A student who loved her family. She had been in Mammoth Lakes this whole week helping construct a new building for her church's sister-church there. The really sad part is that my half-sister had told my dad on friday how excited she was to see her cuz she had "never missed her more." Here is the article edit: I found these photos in a gallery at www.dailybulletin.com... sorry if its a little macabre...

I'm really sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, irresponsible people like that truck driver are far too common, and accidents that could have been avoided end up costing good people their lives. Bike wrote:I like to make werewolf movies.

Sorry to hear about the loss. Kinda hits home as my kids are always going to church trips like this. My condolences to the families and loved ones. It always baffles me when someone who is towing a trailer thinks they can drive like it's not there. Gnar, if you want to PM me with info on the church group, I'm sure my daughters' groups would like to help in some way.

its cool guys. you don't need to say anything. i kinda just wanted to let the world (this is the biggest outlet to the world i have i'd say) know about my niece and maybe open some eyes so this doesn't have to happen again. I really appreciate your concern and while im sure I won't be able to tell my half-sister's family "my clan is there for you", your thoughts do mean something to me, and i thank you. (also, i apologize if the original message seems a little raw but i was (and still am) very mad about the whole situation. especially the d-bag driver. all he lost was his truck. and they have a picture of him holding his wifes hand while theyre being checked out. while i don't know for sure exactly what happened, i do know he's the fucking cause and i am for god-damn sure not going to feel sorry for him so the daily bulletin can take that photo and shove it straight up their ass.)

Gnar I am very sorry for your loss.
I also know that stretch of road as well. A lot people drive it tired, half drunk and burnt out from the weekend.
Again very sorry.

This is really fucking horrible :( It seems like as the weather had been getting warmer the bad driving has gotten worse and tragedies like this are often the result. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.
