Just watching the trailers for the upcoming movie Room 1408 makes me think of a similar situation. Although it is altered abit. Those that know of the Silent Hill 4: The Room should know what im talking about. Even if SH4 is a video game I still find the movie Room 1408 abit of a ripoff to the game SH4.

Those that don't know ill explain abit. The game Silent Hill 4: The Room released in September 7, 2004 is based on a character that moved into a new apartment, doesn't take long to find that strange things are starting to happen in the room. Suddenly one day he can't seem to exit his apartment at all. Chains with locks surround his front door. As per the Silent Hill franchise it doesn't take long till he finds he must face evil.

The movie trailer for room 1408 are rather interesting similar as this guy is trying to figure out what happened in this room where murders have happened, till suddenly he himself is stuck alone faced with a haunted room.

SH4 Trailer doesn't allow embedding

IIRC Stephen King did the short story 1408 (which is what the movie is based off of obviously) in 1999 well before SH4 so if anything the game ripped off the short story

I went through Wiki and found that they aren't exactly "ripoffs".

It references Jacob's Ladder with the closed subway station from the film, Rosemary's Baby, Twin Peaks, and Stephen King.[5]

Largely though the entire Silent Hill used influences based off Jacob's Ladder (a movie made in 1990) and David Lynch's work, clearly way even before Stephen King's short story of Room 1408.

It was a great short story and a good movie on a scale of 1-10 i give it a 7.  I would watch it agian definiatly mostly due to it's samuel l. jackeson awesomeness!!  I just wish he would have stated the line:" I'm not given you the mutha f'n keys to this mutha f'n room"
